Definitely drive a gladiator at highway speeds, preferably over 75 on windy conditions. If you can deal with that then move forward.
Yup. This is where the Gladiator puts its worst foot forward. If this isn't too bad for you, then you will be fine.

Re kids in teh back seat.

Its counterintuitive, but the amount of room you need for kids goes DOWN as they get older.

First they are in rear facing seats and buckets - Huge.
Then they are in forward seats - Big
Then they are in boosters - less big
Then its just them. Smallest.

Then they start getting larger again. But unless you have boys who are going to be pushing 6' none of that matters.

anyone have any mechanical issues?
Yes. Many of us. ha.
Its like being a soldier on a landing ship on D day when the gate goes down.

You just absolutely know it won't be you that takes a bullet.

I bought a 2012 F150 Supercrew 5.0 new, bought a 2013 F150 Supercrew Ecoboost slightly used, and bought a 2008 F250 Supercrew diesel used but with super low miles. I bought my JT new and it has been by far the most reliable of the bunch.

I had a full size truck (Ram 1500) two vehicles before my JT. In summary, the only thing I miss is the 5.7L Hemi.

Unless you tow long distance or have more than 2 kids to lug around, the Gladiator is perfect in my opinion.

I have a 2020 F150 5.0 V8 and a 2021 High Altitude 3.6 V6.

The F150 is my DD, Gladiator is the weekend toy.

What I like about the F150: it's quicker, the seats are more comfortable, the interior is bigger, it has lane assist, and it gets better MPG.

What I like about the Gladiator: it's a much nicer looking truck and it gets attention, the screen and stereo is better, it parks and maneuvers easier, and people wave at me. ?

makes a lot of sense. I’m just tired of daily driving a full-size truck. I have a convertible car for a weekend toy.

Yeah I wasn’t cross shopping against I just was of the mindset I’d miss the full size
That was mostly for your nay-sayers that are telling you it can't do truck stuff... it does mid-sized truck stuff just as well as the rest of the mid-sized trucks.

Before I had my Canyon, I had a '17 Sierra Denali... there is so much I miss about that truck, but I am also much happier with the Jeep. (My family has had Jeeps since the CJ2 in the '40s...)

Only thing I've had, is the loose steering gear on my 2020, but that's been corrected.

I’ve always been the kind of person that don’t care what anyone thinks about me, what I wear, how I look, what I live in or what I drive.

Coming from a 2017 Silverado with the full size bed, the only time I really used the whole bed space was for my ATV and I had about one inch of space to fully close the tailgate with it loaded. Obviously with the Gladiator I cannot do that. It’s not a big issue or anything and is easily fixed by just leaving the tailgate down and using the anchor points to secure it, it’s just a convenience thing I’m missing.

Better naked or doors off.
anyone have any mechanical issues?
Yes. There's a whole section for that. I've had rear glass replaced, three windshields replaced, engine gaskets replaced, rear main seal replaced, and steering box replaced under tsb.

Amen, I could give a rat’s ass. I’ve had lots of great cars that were considered “not a real _______.” You think Jeep people make rude comments about the Gladiator, drive a Boxster or Cayenne to a Porsche club event back when they first came out. Bunch of guys thinking you showed up driving the antichrist…..
