I just picked up my Gladiator from the dealership. they had it for a week, and naturally could not duplicate the problem and said everything is fine.

I have had this same issue happen to me 4 times now in the year that I have had this truck. Luckily it has not left me stranded anywhere, yet. but it's very frustrating when I'm out of it for a week and nothing is found. I turn it on, put it in gear, and it dies. dash board lights up like crazy, i lose the uconnect screen, multiple messages come across the main screen, check engine light is on. it takes several attempts to get the truck to actually start, and when it does, the uconnect screen stays off and check engine light is on. no radio controls, air condition controls, no lights on the shifter either.

Here are the error codes it has given each time, anybody with similar codes and a fix? Based on the fact that a lot of these say battery, voltage high... you would think they would change out batteries at least. Nope, nothing.

TCM- P0563-00 SYSTEM HIGH VOLTAGE
PCM- P2504 CHARGING SYSTEM OUTPUT HIGH
PCM- P0563 BATTERY/ SYSTEM VOLTAGE HIGH
ICS- B210B-00 SYSTEM VOLTAGE HIGH
ICS- B210E-00 BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH
RFH- B2199-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
ABS- C2101-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
ABS- C212A-17 SYSTEM VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
EPS- C2129-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
EPS- C212A-17 SYSTEM VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
HVAC- B21DD-85 SYSTEM VOLTAGE- SIGNAL ABOVE ALLOWABLE RANGE
IPC- B21DD-85 SYSTEM VOLTAGE- SIGNAL ABOVE ALLOWABLE RANGE
SCCM- C2129-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
SCCM- C212A-17 SYSTEM VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
BCM- B2199-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
RADIO- B210B-17 SYSTEM HOLTAGE HIGH- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD
SGW- B2199-17 BATTERY VOLTAGE- CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD

This is going to be the root of all evil for everything else. More than likely have a bad PCM as that is what regulates the alternator voltage.

Second place would be the Alternator itself and is usually the first part to be shotgun as it is the cheapest of the two.

Is everything with regards to the electrical system all stock? No accessories or mods of any kind?

Check every wire connecter you can find, may be one bundle connected but not fully “clicked tight”
I had it happen on a new Honda once.

I didn't have as many codes, but this looks similar to the gremlins I was having. High voltage codes, bells, and warning lights (weird stuff like traction control not available, etc.). With a check engine light once it finally fired up. Ended up being a bad Aux battery. Barely 2-years old. I had to take it to the dealer several times to convince them to specifically test the batteries. Luckily I was still under the new car warranty.

From my understanding (reading information on this board when I was trying to figure things out), bad (or going bad) batteries can cause many problems for the sensitive electronics in the JT/JL. Not like my 2014/manual JK!

New batteries may be something you may want to try. Especially if your current ones have some time on them anyway.

An easy way to find out is to remove the Aux battery ground cable from the main ground group and remove fuse F42.
Takes the Aux battery out of the game.

I would say replacing both of your batteries is the quickest way to see if they are the problem.

I suppose you could just replace the aux battery… But I feel like I read a few times and the forum that both should be replaced at the same time ?‍♂ not my area of expertise.

But I was having a bunch of random electrical issues, and when I replace both batteries, all of those issues went away instantly.

I did find out that you can go to any Napa and they will test your alternator for you to see if that is or is not the problem. When mine tested fine that’s what I made the final choice to get both batteries.

I didn't have symptoms like that but I found out just yesterday that the aux battery is not covered under the Maximum Care extended warranty I purchased. My regular warranty recently ran out (of course). It even surprised the service manager that my dead aux battery wasn't covered by it. It is what it is.

I completely understand the idea that batteries wouldn't be covered in traditional setups, but they've basically hard-wired a parasitic system into the truck with that start stop thing. By design when one battery gets weak then it starts draining the other one and overworking the charging system for survival. It seems to me that there should be some warranty help when it finally kills itself off.
