Wobble is back

2022 Jeep Gladiator Sport Manual 6spd 9k miles - I have driven the Gladiator less than 5k in last year, it has been in the shop for more than 3 times for wobble issues. another time for radio issue. I can't drive this car with any reasonable expectation of safety. I am very pissed. How can i get Jeep to buy this back crap. this is the worst car I have ever owned. I don't even selling it someone because i have a conscious. I hate this JEEP CRAP.

Jeep won't. Sounds like you have a bad shop.

I am starting the lemon process. I bought the car as a used one-owner. The original owner put on about 3600 miles and traded it back in. I contacted her via Facebook - she had the same issue. She was in upstate New York where it is cold, and she was so annoyed with this. She ended up taking 10k loss for no reason.

JEEP needs to fix this and own it. As it is plastered online that Jeep service sucks, they treat their customer like garbage. I have had BMW, Mercedes and Lexus - their location, service and response to their customer is on a different level, Jeep treat their customer likes dumb animals.

I think its very dealer dependent on how customers are treated. I love my local service center, they’ve always done right by me. ?‍ but im well aware this is probably the exception and not the rule. Jeeps are also a pretty hands on brand and seem to last long when the owner is in tune and capable of doing some things on their own. Bmw/Mercedes/lexus are definitely on the other side of that spectrum.

You need to request that Jeep open up a "Star Case" on your vehicle. You will get personal service and probably some compensation when it's fixed. Wife's Alfa Romeo had numerous electrical issues, star case was opened, flew a man out from Italy to repair the car and i was given a fat check for my trouble. Car has been great since.

Its a shame its a nice vehicle but it seems most dealers put a new steering stabilizer on and call it fixed , WRONG . . The right people can fix it and it would be a perfectly fine vehicle . Death wobble has been around longer than many of you have been alive and a steering stabilizer don't fix it, it covers it up for a little while at best . I don't even run a steering stabilizer once the OE wears out . I prefer to replace the worn part not try to cover it up .

Following. If it were mine I would get all the wheels off the ground and start looking for anything that feels or looks like it's loose. But that's just me. If you have another dealer in the area have them take a look see. One thing for sure the stock steering damper is junk. Mine only had 2K on it when that went in the garbage.

Unfortunately, I don't think you qualify for the Lemon Law process. It's normally reserved for new vehicles within the first 12 months of ownership, to the original owner. Your state may be different but most states fall within these parameters.

Open a STAR case and if possible, try a different dealer.

As we know (including Lunentucker) - there is no one single cause for DW. So anyone diagnosing and repairing needs to spend time - since time=money, most shops won't (or in the case of a dealer shop, can't unless you are willing to foot the whole bill, no matter what)

Ideally, when things are right, you can drive without the steering "stabilizer" or "dampener" and not have wobble.
Steering stabilizer = bandaid
Steering stabilizer != fix

In other words, since the OP's Jeep hasn't been messed with, it narrows things down dramatically. The things to check are stock. It may take TIME, but it can be done. The fact it's stock greatly limits the "what changed" parts of troubleshooting.

Once it's away from stock - it is exponentially more complicated to nail down.
It can be as simple as tires or wheels, or loose or bent parts.
There can be a stack-up of tolerances, too. A tiny bit of loose in each of the parts all adds up.
And we don't know if the OP's Jeep slammed into something, perhaps bending a knuckle or other parts. Maybe the PO (prior owner) slid on sand or ice and hit a curb, maybe they dropped off something hard and bent something. Only a really good alignment guy would catch some of that.

With a few of those youtube videos "I fixed it and if you do this it will fix yours, too" is just looking for clicks. If they changed it to "maybe" - then fine.

That shop guy knew his stuff.
That's how we've checked parts for decades and how I checked when I was doing alignments.

To reinforce your point, I smashed my stock JKUR steering stabilizer on the trail (bent rod stuck into the cylinder). I took it off and drove 2.5 hrs home, then around town for a couple weeks before I was able to get it fixed. I never noticed a difference.

A dry steering test is where you should start with diagnosing death wobble. This is done with the tires on the ground.

The steering damper will not cause or prevent death wobble.
