Thanks. Yeah I went a bit overboard…

Update for my jeep is still waiting on parts, jeep still hasn’t approved a rental for me that’s an AWD or 4WD.

Being patient and optimistic.

But yeah OP I was outta line…

I am now really curious if this pump will actually be the answer.
Crash the 2wd then send them the bill.

Other than part number nothing externally visual.....im told its actually an older pump used on the gen 2 ED that wasn't as susceptible to USLD diesel issues
You mean the cp3?

No it’s a CP4 and it looks identical in nearly every respect.

Maybe they changed the metal type, cam profile or something…..

Either way, I’m not convinced there has ever been a rock solid cp4…

Is a new fuel filter part of the recall. Should install new pump, test drive than change filter.
I would be interested in knowing this as well. I'm scheduled for the inspection on Wednesday, and I plan to inspect the filter myself tomorrow, take pictures, and put it back to see if there are metal shavings. That way if they tell me nothing needs to be done on inspection day I have something to say. Anyway, if they replace it, I won't buy a new one; if they don't, then I'd be interested in the why.. and at least I can swap it asap.

They should replace the filter, but after some thought I would think the filter would be between the tank and fuel pump. Let me know how the inspection goes. My pump is on back order.

You're correct that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is downstream of the fuel filter, then metal shards caught by the filter generally wouldn't come from the HPFP, as the filter would intercept debris before it reaches the pump.

However, if shards are found in the fuel filter housing or upstream of the filter element, it is possible that they are being generated by the HPFP and pushed back toward the tank and filter due to the recirculation of fuel.
At least that's how I understand it

No it’s still a cp4
I am taking delivery of my gladiator soon, and I had asked for them to perform the recall before I picked it up, and they just sent me this screen shot. The salesman says it’s been done he thinks. I called the service department in late October to ask about it and they said to take it as is, and they would perform it at a later date.
Looking at the screenshot, I would say it was done on November 1st correct?
Thanks
Clarence
