So, I wanted to trade my Freedom edition in on the new Far Out diesel Rubicon. Figured out my truck isn’t worth a damn for trade in and I’m not willing to take that kind of loss.

Since I’m keeping this till the wheels fall off, I’m going to upgrade it the way I want it. I’m getting the BFG 37s, I already have a taser and 4.88 gears sitting in the garage and some side steps on the way. Other mods listed in my signature.

Give me your opinion on minimum lift I will need to run these stock wheels without rubbing or anything else you might want to let me know. I want to keep my lift price at $1000 or less if possible. I’ve read numerous posts about running on stock wheels and I’m going to stay with them. I do not do any serious off roading or rock crawling, occasional back roads and blue/green rated trails.

Currently have Terra flex 1.5 spacer front and 3/4 rear installed.

You are going to need wheel spacers. I'm using the Teraflex 3/4" on mine.

Yep. Will need wheel spacers like the Terras or Quadratech brand. The 37 BFG is one of the smallest 37’s out there measuring at 35 and some small change. I would suggest Nitto Recons in 37x11.5

Oh, and put thread lock on the wheel spacers or you're wheels may “fall off” sooner than desired..

Don’t cheap on the lift. If it takes you a few more months of saving, do it and get something like AEV or metal cloak. There’s areas where it’s OK to be cheap - this isn’t one of them.
How about the mopar 2inch if I were going more expensive? Do you think 2inches would be enough?

A lot of people use the 2" Mopar lift with 37's.

These are about $100 more per tire but assuming I wouldn’t need spacers, it may be worth it. I like my BFG’s, and have no experience with Nittos at all.

Do you already have the 37’s, or you getting from Costco?

I have them in my Amazon cart BFG are $344, those Nittos are $437. Those are the cheapest I’ve found for the two.

Honestly, the only reason I suggest the Nitros is the width of the tire for the stock rim. Many places will not put a 12.5 wide tire on the stock jeep wheel. They say 11.5 is fine but 12.5 is unsafe. Not sure if it is a huge difference, but that’s why I go Nitto. They are the only tires I can find in 37x11.5 r 17.

How are they in mud and snow, how about highway noise? My current BFG are great for me so far that’s why I was leaning towards them, but I do like the skinny tire look.

I’ve run Nittos on Jeeps and big trucks. Wear was fast on a Ram 3500 bc of weight. Jeep wear way better. Very quiet road noise. The BFGs I have run on multiple work trucks. They wear well until they don’t. I always have cupping issues, but likely bc I never worried about ball joints or tire rotations on a work truck lol! The BFGs will run well for you if you are not hitting full articulation, they will rub with current setup. That’s where the narrower tires comes in with the setup you have.

What’s your setup, got any pics?
