I think it would be cool to tour the plant and watch the process from end to end. Not sure if they do that sort of thing.
Unfortunately no. I was In Cleveland for work and took a drive over to Toledo for the Jeep Fest and to drive by the plant.

No tours :(

I can’t tell you what Jeep can build on their JT line per day but I spent a good bit of time with GM Truck and Bus in the mid 90’s.

They would crank out 800 to 1000 trucks per day—S-10’s, S-15’s and Isuzu’s all coming across a common line.

Your truck is completed in a day, more than likely a shift. I get a kick out of the status reports of framing, paint, etc.

Yes there is a painting process. The parts are painted prior to build.

There is a framing process. The chassis is pre-built—minus suspension prior to assembly.

It’s a well orchestrated process and very interesting to watch!

You can get a feel of the production line in this video of the JL line. Someone who works on the line said they are doing 195 JTs per shift, 2 shifts, so almost 400 per day.

Man, that video is awesome! At least the Systems Engineer side of me says that. The future JT owner in me says "don't screw up, don't screw up, don't screw up." I guess along with "hurry, hurry, hurry!" :)

My dad always says working on his Edsels, "it took some guy in the factory 40 seconds to do this." Usually after having spent the whole day doing the same task. Watching the video confirms this. Pretty cool to see how a Jeep is born.

My Gladiator has been 'in production' for 9 days. That seems long right? Also, the build sheet didnt come through until around day 4 and the window sticker still isnt available. I figured once they started it wouldnt take more than a day or 2 to get built.

Yeah, ours has been in production since January 30th. Some how I doubt that is accurate - not sure what’s up.
