After two years with mine and knowing what I do now as opposed to everything I didn’t know then, chances are I’d order another one if I ever have to replace this one. I now see the appeal of starting with a less expensive model and upgrading the things I want to change.
Congrats. Post pictures. Regarding ravelco for security, mine arrives tomorrow via ups. I’ll install it as soon as possible and will post reviews. But I did my research, and I’ve yet to find another option that’s this protective.
Please do post about it. It looks like a great option

I see the appeal, but the transfer case and dual lockers are really expensive things to add after.

I will post my reactions, but not the full details of the install on a public forum. But I’ll happily discuss it with anyone as a side bar. Just pm me and I’ll provide contact info. I like talking to Jeep peeps.

Only if those things are necessary (or even wanted) later.
Would be a 100% total waste in my case. (and I'd bet in at least 1/3 the Rubicons sold, the lockers don't get used)

I’m sure that’s true for many buyers. For me, everything gets used to its absolute fullest potential. I’ve been known to invent projects just to use a tool in the garage.

I have been known to buy tools for the projects I come up with.

I normally take my JK out on the trails and use the crap out of the lockers. I bought a Rubicon JT for the Rubicon goodies and I do occasionally take it out on the trails, which means I will use my lockers, etc. In fact it's going to Hurricane Creek Saturday. While I probably won't need the lockers, it will be nice to have them, just in case.

Oh, and congrats on the new Rubi!

Absolutely. I buy tools for projects as well. It’s the tools I buy before a project in mind that makes me a crazy.

I want my remote start - so I'll be relying on my own measures, giving me the ability to protect at various levels as I need.

IMO, the only way the Ravelco is going to be any good is if it's done just as their own installers would do it- and often it involves taking a lot of the vehicle apart and making the connections in widely varied places. Too many take the to audio installers or others - LOL, right. They'll short cut it and make it easy by keeping all connections in the cabin.

Exactly. “I know I have one of those. No question. I just know a compression checker was going to come in handy all the time.” :)

Jeep Gladiator Newby Looking for Security Options Screenshot 2024-02-14 220334

Someone suggested that the thieves learned of the device the first time, and came back later- prepared, and suggested a laptop was connected and diagnosed the issues so the thieves could figure out how to get around it.....
The response?

So the claims of 5 million sold and never a single theft ever, just didn't happen - not quite correct if that person is telling the truth.

There isn’t a single system that will stop everyone. Everything can be reversed and removed. It’s how difficult you make it, and how often you park in areas with high theft. I’m happy to discuss my ideas, but not as much in a public thread.
