Greetings all. I just got delivery of a 2024 gladiator sport S. I want to put bigger tires on, but I don’t know how big I can go with the stock rims and stock suspension. Ideally, I would like to put on 285/75r17

Can I go that big?. If not, what’s the maximum size I can put on there? Thanks in advance.

If you have the stuby steel and the max tow package you can easily do 35's and offroad it. The standard plastic bumper with the standard axles you'll get some rubbing going down the street on full turns. You can migrate this by removing the air dam and doing some minor trim work.

If you are just doing light to low moderate offroading then 33's will be fine.

Lots and lots of threads on that here -
* Pay a dealer

* Buy a Bluetooth OBD II adapter, security bypass cable and either AlfaOBD or JSCAN software and do it yourself (cheaper than tazer and useful for other things as well, including logging, diagnosing engine or transmission troubles, and much more)

* Buy a tazer and use that to do it

* Buy an ECRI device and use that to do it (cheaper than tazer and useful for other things as well)

Is alt 2870 indicated the wider axle is a little bit more friendly. The max tow package comes with axles that are somewhere between three and 4 inches wider total. A buddy of mine has a sport JL with the narrow axles and he picked up Rubicon parts real cheap. The photos below show it with a diesel JL factory suspension, Highline fender flares and I think he’s running 1.75 or 2 inch spacers on factory wheels, which are 7.5 inch wide I think. The tires are 35x11.5-17

Check your window sticker. If you see "max tow" package anywhere on the window sticker........
Not "tow package" - it must say "max tow" to have the slightly wider axles than a non-max tow Sport S. (wider by 0.75" per side)

If you bought it new, there should be a window sticker with it.
Otherwise you can plug in the VIN behind the = on this link and get your build sheet -

You can put your VIN after the = on this link and get your window sticker -

I looked at my window sticker and I did not order the max tow package. The sticker says I have heavy duty Dana 44 front and Real axles with a 373 axle ratio.

Not max tow.
Others here now will know how to better help you with tire size knowing that information being the not wider axles.
You'll still get a heck of a lot of ability - even a stock Overland can handle a heck of a lot - there's videos out there of these being fully stock, or maybe just minor tire changes, taking some pretty tough trails. Don't under-estimate these in basic form.

I am not doing any offloading at all. Strictly local and highway driving and driving on the beach. I just feel that the 245s that comes stock look too small on the vehicle which is why I want to go to the 285/75

Here's my Willys Sport with 285/75R17's, Teraflex 1.5" leveling pucks on the front, with 1.75" wheel spacers (for a little poke). You can omit the leveling kit and wheel spacers if you like. You should have the same axles I do. 305/70R17's should work, as well.
