Do I need receipt for DIY oil change materials?

Yesterday I bought a jug of 0w20 Pennzoil and a Mopar filter. I never get a receipt from O'Reilly Auto because they just keep it under my phone number. Should I go back and get the receipt?

Yes, because Pennzoil is running a rebate promo now.
But for the warranty simply document the changes in the app or on the website with Jeep.

I did the first oil change at 4,490. It was still showing 46% oil life but I went even further than I have with any of my new vehicles. I checked between the pleats of the used oil filter and there was very little metal. Just a few tiny specs and one sliver of some sort. I will go 5,000 on this next one, then stretch the 3rd out. I will probably never exceed 7,500.

Never a bad idea for, in relation oil and filters are cheap and motors are expensive.

Typically under 3K for my first, I vary the subsequent based on use, weather, and other factors - as well as the oil life monitor which also tracks load, oil temperatures, and other factors.
I keep receipts for everything "just because" - never hurts to have proof of something on paper.
O'Reilly's can furnish a receipt.

I think it's only 2 for the 2023 models. That being said, I will only use them if I absolutely have to in a pinch or something. I just don't like other people touching my vehicles.

Assuming your question is regarding COA for any potential warranty issue, the burden is on Jeep to prove you did not meet the maintenance requirements, not on you.

If it's under your phone number they can probably provide a receipt for years.

I change my oil when the monitor states it's time and not a mile sooner.

It never hurts to keep copies of all purchase receipts, work orders, repairs, etc.

I ended up swinging by the auto parts store and having them print it out for me.

I always get a receipt. Write the date, mileage, and any pertinent details on the back and put it with the owners manual.

3 chances to overfill it, not fill it, overtighten the filter housing, strip the drain plug, and God only knows what else.
