Battery Replacement

In Oct. I replaced the main battery, in reading it would seem like a good preventative idea to replace the auxiliary POS battery since when it fails you are parked and or all sorts of problems written here . So replace or not, inquiring minds want to know. Thanks 2021 Gladiator Sport all towing options.

No experience with them (both are still original) and I don't know if one typically lasts longer than the other, but my general thought is "they are the same age."

When it comes time to replace mine it’ll be done as a set. Knock on wood mine is a 2020 with 34K miles on it and seems to be doing fine.

As bad as a reputation as Jeep has, my 2006 WK with Hemi and my 2020 JTM have been the most problem free vehicles I’ve had except my 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 132k miles on it. I’ve had zero issues except routine maintenance which I keep up with myself. My 2004 Ford Exploder was horrible and don’t even get me started on my 2018 Ford Expedition. Hopefully it’s got most the issues fixed cause it’s been a money pit. I don’t want to spend $100k on a new SUV right now though. It’s paid off.

I'm in the same boat as the OP, running original batteries (2020 JTR w/45,xxx miles). Noticed that after sitting a week, it takes a couple days of driving for the ASS to start working. The message on the ASS screen indicates battery charging. I removed the alternate battery lead and fuse 42 to isolate the main battery and observe if the ASS and associated message recovered quicker. Everything operated the same, so it appears the aux battery is not causing excess load on the main battery. I'm going to change the main battery and monitor the voltage closely. I know aux battery replacement is still inevitable, but I'm pondering deleting it completely and keeping the original aux battery for a while longer will hopefully buy me some time until I make my final decision.

Id do both at the same time, but if the main battery replacement was enough by itself....carry on. Or replace the AUX battery for the feel good piece of mind.......or go Cheapskate Charlie and delete that shit.

I have a 2020, at around 38-40k my auxiliary battery went south couple days later my main battery started to act up. I replaced both at the same time.
