Is the hurricane coming to the gladiator? Is there a sensor to monitor the sensor? Sp you get a warning when oil level cannot be read

It is not likely coming to the Gladiator. The sensor will have some sort of self test to report when it quits working.

You guys are hilarious. Common questions: RTFM. Common problems, It’s a jeep thing. No oil dipstick on an engine that literally none of you own but that you have all been asking for: literal tears.
I have not been asking for it. I would also bet that no one here has literally cried tears over anything related to the Hurricane engine.

My Porsche didn't have one either, but with the ease of the sensor was probably the vehicle I checked the oil on the most. Pretty much daily I checked the oil because I just had to flip through the menu,

I think I read about this about 15 years ago in the European brands. At the time the BMW 3-series didn’t have one.

Allegedly, BMW determined that 90 something out of 100 people never touched the dipsticks in their engines, so it became an accountants decision to remove them.
My Supra doesn’t have one. It has the BMW B58 engine. I don’t like the lack of a dip stick , however you can check the oil level. You go into the screen and there’s an option to check engine oil level. You select it with The engine running and the computer kicks the rpm’s up a bit and runs like that for 20 seconds, then it shows a bar graph on the screen showing you it’s level. It works…….still would prefer a dipstick.

I find it hard to believe the Hurricane has NO way to check the oil level.

Every time I drive through water with my ATV that’s up to the motor I check the oil to see if water got in. I’d probably like to do the same with a vehicle…. Maybe the sensor does that too lol

People still get haircuts? Crap. I guess I’ve been doing it wrong.
One of my favorite days. But I also get a beard trim at the barber. Big fan.

For something as vital as engine oil level, there is no excuse to not have a manual method of inspecting it. I would not trust an electric sensor.

Hell after I myself just poured the recommended amount of oil, I still check the dipstick.

BMW dipsticks are behind the steering wheel.

Truly, though, I rarely check my oil level unless the engine has a leak or is a known oil burner or I smell burnt oil or I'm under the hood for some other reason and get curious. It gets checked after each oil change; that's about it. But that doesn't mean I want them to take it away.

I pull the dipstick once a year to insert an extractor tube.....even though the computer says there's 70% life remaining. :CWL:

Why an extractor tube when you can drain it out the bottom?

I used to do the fumoto valve on my old jeep.
I like the extractor more these days.
Shove the tube in, pull the old oil, fill with new oil.
