I wonder what the round pre-cleaner type snorkel top would look like , might be a cleaner look? There are a few different styles out there, might be smaller and a neat idea to catch the big dirt before sending it to air cleaner….Jack

I don't hate that. Very Deuce and a half. The Gladiator does look like a mini bobbed Deuce.

Agree. But is highly doubtful that any of those prefilter tops would clear the windshield in the back or the lights. Too bulky.

For the deuce n a half look....now something like this should clear.

(and before you say "I don't hate it"....know that you really should ;) )

(and ya I know this is for exhaust - just wire it open)

I've long been on a quest to set my truck up to make a lot of people give me hate. LOL,
I wanted to run both the KC Gravity light bar and also have a snorkel. The problem is that the snorkel tube is too high for the light bar, i don't really want to cut the hood, and the regular light bar brackets don't play well with the Rugged Ridge Snorkel either.

The GoRhino light bar brackets sits away from the frame. It minimizes how much paint damage you get and I was hoping would give me more clearance for the snorkel.
Turns out it's not enough.

But I've spent the money so....

Out came the heat gun!

I got the cowl section to give way and make room for the bracket. I need to go back and play a little more to make it a little prettier but it works, and I can still remove the snorkel tube if I need to.
Next was to deal with the height of the snorkel. It was simply too tall and interfered with the light bar. So it needed to get a little shorter.

Thankfully the tube doesn't neck down, so cutting out the central section and gluing the pieces together worked well. I need to go back and melt some metal screening or something to ensure the pieces stay together.

LMAO, my only regret in buying this was not waiting for a Diesel. And If I had gotten that diesel I'd be going to great lengths to make it look like a mini deuce. CARC paint and all!

Thanks! I do to, I almost bought the KC version to keep it all together. I really like how tight they stay to the body, but I know that would mean snow and sand and salt just staying in there all winter long. These only touch the paint in two spots on each side plus the cowl bolt holes. The down side is that they do catch and trap branches now and then. I may have to invest in some limb risers but that would put me solidly in the nerd category LOL

i love what you did so i can't give you hate. sorry. but what i can give is a one in a million wtf. i was following a JL through a tight, right sweep, off camber trail at hawk's pride a bit ago and one small branch hanging down on the passenger side was low enough to drive the snorkel top into the windshield and left the most unique spiderweb crack in glass i've ever seen. never saw it coming.

That's crazy! Being in the woods, I am worried a little about branches, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go there yet with limb risers.
