I actually communicated with the guy that created and designed that grille. It was last year (or maybe a couple years) on an old facebook account. I tried to revive the account to get his name. But, he's pretty cool. And he actually responded to a post I made about the grille. I was trying to get everyone's opinion and he chimed in. Really good guy with a nice product.

I am drooling over the YJ grille. The main hesitations for me are that I love the JT grille as it is, the OEM LED headlights are outstanding, and I really just don't need to spend the money on something cosmetic. Jeeps are really all about function, so this is like rubbing a cat's fur the wrong way.

But it just looks so cool. And I had a YJ. LOVED it's rectangular headlights. I miss that YJ every dang day.

I just installed this on my JT. Still waiting on the YJ bumper to arrive to complete the look. Several people hate on the YJ, but it was the one that turned me on to the Wrangler.

Here’s a horrible one I took right as I completed it. I plan on getting better pictures and will post another head on when I do.

I have an original YJ grill. Are they worth something now?

I will let it go for cheap.

10,000 US currency.

Facebook Marketplace…..
I had a 92 YJ that was totalled on highway and I bought it back from the insurance company (in 2003). I kept the grill…...thinking I’d hang it in the garage and have the lights functional, etc. I sold it a couple years ago on marketplace.
I can’t remmeber what I got for it…maybe $50 or more.

That is 100% badass. I would do 10 double takes if I saw that rolling down the road. Was it a pretty easy install?

Did you get it from Unofficial Use Only? How long did it take to receive it? And is the fit spot-on?

Also, what headlights did you use and what did you have to modify to mount and wire them, if any?

Wasn’t too bad. All the issues I faced were self inflicted.

It is the one from Unofficial Use Only, and the grill came in within a week or two. He has a limited number in stock I believe. For the fit, mines not 100% spot on but I believe I warped it a little by having it in the bed of my truck for over a week in 90+ degree temperatures. But overall it does fit well. Instead of trying to reuse old clips, I ordered replacements from Amazon as well. I also have the bumper coming too. Hopefully it will ship the end of this month.

The headlights are just some basic 5x7 LED headlights from Amazon. I went with a pair that did not have the DRL’s. I didn’t want to fool with properly wiring them into the OEM DRL’s. For the wiring all you need a pigtail adapter made by Oracle. As far as modifications, the only thing required is to break off a small tab where the OEM light mounts. I wasn’t thrilled about doing that but, it won’t prevent me from ever installing the OEM light back so I went ahead and broke it. The grill comes will the necessary bezels and buckets to mount the square lights.
