I used a heavy duty angle bracket thru bolted to floor and drilled 5/8" hole to accommodate trailer hitch lock that has large washer welded to it to create rifle lock thru the trigger guard. I can place rifle under or in front of back seat and lock it up.

s secure and out of sight, quick to remove and thrifty to create. any other ideas out there?
That's a "See-all" (amazing, works great no battery or my glasses) sight on a Ruger Pc Carbine .40 Cal. Shares magazines with the Glock 27 and 23 pistols.

On a few post to this thread, I typed up then it dumped it.
I've not casted bullets but fishing weights and scuba diving weights. Several hundred pounds over the years. Mostly from old tire weights, I miss being able to just stop at tire shops and given them. Some of them are made with nasty stuff not straight lead though, a lot of dross or slag.

A small part of my collection I cast in 90's. In Dec. I decided to get a replacement for my long in tooth G-19. It looks as if Ruger and MagPul copied several things I've done to it with the RXM. My only change was the grip assembly for my larger hands.

My logic for it, I've got more than a few Glock magazines, it fits many Glock holsters. I've not ran it though my normal function testing of 500-1000 rounds only about 100 so far. I will likely shave off the magazine release a bit as it likes to drop magazines when in holster.
My other Dec. addition was a "why not" I got a heavy barrel upper side charger to try out. Now, I have across the spectrum of AR's uppers. From vintage to SBR's and oddball's.

That upper is a pig 20in heavy barrel. Now I need to take to range to try it out.
The 9mm one I'm thinking about "SBR'ing" it. But that makes it a PTA when traveling. The "green one" is a good to reliable BCM upper from when they were relatively unknown. On the two 22LR's the Ruger is a good pest control tool, I probably should put the compact thermal sight back on it. A FYI Sig 322 fits many Glock holsters too.

Many of them were melted and recast several times to get the nasty stuff out. Zinc and other pot metals. A lot of it was melted in 1 gallon cans over charcoal fire. I recently checked the price for the weight molds I have... I'm glad I bought them then. I was looking since I thought about recasting some into smaller sized weights. I might order bullet, slug or buckshot one to try it, multi purpose then.
I've got about 25 lbs of babbit in original casting. Not going to use it I use it as a deadblow block for some things.
The upper is from Bear Creek, some times the low budget companies turn out some good things don't know yet. If not I'm not out a large amount. My first thought was to use as a kind of LMG upper, but now I want to see if it's a "shooter" first. One of my buddies has a belt fed, so that was my thought about us going out to the range and do some dueling rapid fire. Last time we got to do that he had a M-249 and I had M-60 in W. Germany in 1990.

So anyway I guess I will have a 10.5" 300 for no reason soon. Perfect for my supressor, though.

As good of a reason as any. In the past I would keep several sets of parts around just for having a bad day and putting one together for relaxing. . . Then I had to thin my herd running out of storage. I tried for many years to stick with base calibers. 5.56 then well I decided to 300 B.O. on a Black Friday sale barrel.

Thankfully I got rid of a shotgun recently so that made space for this. I am literally tight for physical storage.

I tried to do similar for many years then a itch happened again. I might have a few shotguns I've not shot and more not in over 10 years. Same with several rifles and pistols.

He also buys all the 'new' stuff. Like he just showed me his 7MM Backcountry rifle. Some new caliber? Had to have it, though.

Works for me and the other friends though. We get the stuff he sells for good deals in his never ending chase for the latest and coolest I picked up a Shadow Systems 9MM and a Browning T-Bolt 22LR with a threaded barrel from him last year. Those will get used often enough and will probably stay in the collection for a long time.

I definitely don't chase the newest greatest thing. But I decided on a 350 legend upper awhile back. Not long range caliber but more of a throw back to several older rifles in ballistics. .355 somewhat of the 35 caliber straight wall stuff but in a modern rifle. Funny back in early 1990's I wanted to wildcat that and 308 blown out to 45 also. I just didn't have the time and resources for it. No Google search to locate a barrel maker to customize the barrels. Much less getting magazines for them then with the AWB looming. I definitely don't regret on many of the firearms I passed on back then. SAM'S, M1 carbine's, M1 Garand's, ect and especially I got offered a few transferable RDAS for a stupidly good price. . . Now worth

I have an M1 Carbine on hand I borrowed from a friend. Still need to shoot it.

A late model Mini 14 with a threaded barrel is also on my 'to buy' list.

I do 'need' another S&W .357....

Same with drill ceremony with a 1903A3. That is shoulder and forearm pain like no other.

I was a small 14-year old 9th grader.
(I had skipped the 8th grade, big mistake.)
We drilled with M1 Garands
which seemed enormous to me.

An upperclassman showed me
how to save my little thumb
and avoid the painful M1 Thumb
when closing the bolt
upon the command "order arms"
after opening the bolt on "inspection arms".

Once the thumb depressed the follower
on the first part of the command, "order",
ease the bolt forward a bit over the follower
then grip the receiver with my thumb
on the outside of the receiver
for as long as needed
awaiting the second part, "arms",
thus avoiding the dreaded M1 Thumb
or embarrassing failure to close the bolt.

The eagle eyed
and bat eared platoon sergeant
could spot an open bolt
or hear a late bolt slam
with uncanny ability
and identify the appropriate miscreants.

A real man forms his hand
into a rigid shape depressing the follower
with a firm thumb
and holding back the bolt handle
with the blade of the hand simultaneously.

When loading clips full of 30-06 cartridges,
Garand Thumb is really not an issue
because resistance of the cartridge on top
slows down the bolt
and sweeps the thumb out of the way
if your hand is gripping the receiver
as it should.

On my personal DCM M1 Garand
acquired in 1995
I installed a Holbrook Device,
the Garand Thumb saver.
It holds back the bolt like an M14
but I can still enjoy the nostalgic ping
when an empty clip is ejected
by merely depressing the clip latch.
