I had a toolbox custom built but Highway Products, https://www.highwayproducts.com/. It fits perfectly between the wheel wells in the front of the bed of my LE. It is also just tall enough to fire under the tonneau. It’s covered with stuff in the bed right now or I’d send a picture, will do that soon.

We were able to mount a dual ARB compressor and some other 12V power outlet in it and there is still lots of room for storage of recovery gear, etc. It has one locking latch that opens it from the driver’s side and the quality is great. They were great to work with. I think it is the ideal solution to the storage issue.

I currently have a Colorado with a 6.5ft bed and tonneau cover. With the shallower (and much shorter) bed, I think I will want more room. I like the idea of the decked but much of what I put in the bed won’t fit. It might be good with a cap though? I anticipate wanting the height so will prob go with a fiberglass cap and side boxes so I still have the height in the middle. Possibly a full width tray slide under the tonneau if I can’t find a cap I like that looks good. I like the camp king but the price just won’t work for me, not that it’s not worth it.

If you are going with side boxes and a cap... Highway Products make a Pickup pack that is seriously good kit. Pricey though.

A friend has the decked system. It weighs around 200 lbs and, in my opinion, wastes a lot of space.

I saw the DECked system installed in a JT for the first time yesterday. (I sold my LE wheels and tires to a fellow owner and he had it) I, genuinely, like the idea a lot, however it does seem to waste a lot of usable space. He also indicated that it wasn't the easiest installation and that he will be removing it quite often for trips with his family to the beach. I want items that make life easier, not more difficult.

As far as the wasted space goes I took some time looking around the deck before putting the drawers in and the only space thats wasted is above the wheel wells under the decking.

The drawers are really nice for gear storage but the deck gives me a platform for a fridge slide and l-track tie downs without having to drill any wholes into the factory bed.

Like I said, I love the idea of it a lot. I recently purchased 2 commercial size fans for my garages (4 foot diameter or so) and had I had the system installed, they would have been more difficult for me to get into the bed as well as been sitting very high up on the way home. I suppose it's really about how you use that space 90% of the time. He said it's going to work well for the type of work that he does which is the primary reason for him purchasing the JT, just that it might be a pain for him the other 10% of the time. For me personally, I want the system for the 10% of my time, which probably isn't the best reason to make the purchase. I really like the security and organization it provides.

I just sold my decked drawers. Took up too much space for me and the drawers just weren't big enough. Took a little over an hour to completely remove it from my truck and into the new owners truck. So I think the times of 30 min is pretty fair for this one once you get the hang of it. If we could use power tools, it would be a lot quicker. Only thing I would worry about if planning on removing/adding it on a regular basis are the self tapping plastic screws for the shiny bits. I can see those potentially stripping out after a while. Another thing I noticed which was a bit of a concern was some rust between the ruler piece and the plastic. I'm thinking the screws may not be stainless. So something to think about if you're in wet or salty climates.

On a side note, I'm now looking for a tonneau and that diamondback looks appealing. I did message Pace Edwards and they are planning on releasing the Jackrabbit and full metal jackrabbit for the gladiator. Said they should have part numbers in about a month.

The screws should be stainless. Not sure what was going on there. We do make inserts for the screws if you are planning to take the system in and out often. Ideally the system was designed to stay in more than not, but we do understand that everybody has a different set of needs and we are adapting to this. We have started using inserts in the full sized system, and eventually will do the same for the midsize. I'm the guy who purchased the decked system from boardthis74 and then went and got the wheels from Hawkeyes3312. The remove and reinstall was more challenging than I had hoped. It was accomplished in an hour and it was very hot and we only had one set of tools. Next time it will be faster but not a ton faster. I will remove it about 10% of the time but not to go to the beach, plenty of room to strap the boogie boards, chairs and cooler on top of the Decked system! It held all 5 wheels for 200 miles no problem!!

Haha yes! Because we have Jeeps, we have NO cash left! Only enough to buy a can of beans!
Gotta use cash on important stuff like lift kits and wheels/tires! haha

A great concept, until your airbag deploys, then it’s not. I would stay away from anything like this.
