Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

it's pretty damn ugly, but it's grown on me a little bit.

though i have to say that anyone that likes this can no longer make fun of the aztek, pinto, ridgeline, etc etc.

LOL Apparently a lot of millennial kids love the Aztec because of Breaking Bad. Someone had a good article on how the Aztec was actually a good vehicle sans its design with so many great features and got killed cuz of the economy... They were somewhat ahead of their times in the crossover segment... But as everyone knows the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder LOL

I do like the futuristic lines of the CyberTruck, but I am sure most would find it ugly

So funny. I'm rewatching breaking bad and the Aztec was supposed to convey he was a bit of a pragmatic uncool misfit but now it does seem kind of cool.

Aside from the fact that it looks just like the truck my 3yr old drew me and yes he was drawing me a picture of our gladiator (back off he’s 3). Does this mean they will have to install charging stations along the trails?

Unless they're going the Bollinger route as a Class 3 truck. I doubt that's the case though.

I am actually surprised so many of the Jeep Gladiator owners don't like this truck - cuz the Jeep is an unique outlier too... I def see that it is a bit of extreme futuristic design but it has really clean lines and I think can be a timeless design tbh... I am pretty sure it will grow on ya! I have a feeling it will def age well! In any case, I ordered the tri-motor cuz I wanted 500+ miles from a single charge and only then I can convert to Electric... That doesn't mean I will get rid of my gasoline cars/trucks though...

The specs make it seem really nice. The approach and departure angles, towing and hauling capacity, power, 0-60, etc. Plus self driving is cool. On paper it's amazing

But damn is this thing hideous. It's all of the worst parts of it cars mashed into one.

I think it's just too bland. Too much blank empty space. It needs more greebles and things to break it up

Look at any car. They aren't big square blank boxes. They have creases and trim pieces and other added elements to break up the mundane and add some small visual element. This is missing that. It's just empty boring space

Compare this to the delorean. The delorean has trim pieces and such added to break up the boring space and make it look cool. This truck? Not so much. Empty boring space

While the truck has awesome specs and is good on paper, it's a big, blank, hideous box of metal

Seems that love is only theoretical. My wife's coworker had an Aztec. Just two weeks ago the differential seized up. She took her Aztec to a repair shop who quickly informed her the only axle they could find was in Canada and the repair costs would be far more than the vehicle's value. They weren't kidding. When the young lady called local salvage yards, they didn't even want it. A local Pull-N-Pay will almost always give you $500 for a vehicle and tow it away to boot. They would only give her $200 for the Aztec. Other yards wanted her to pay them to come and haul it off.

I couldn't help but laugh at that Formula-1 style steering. It might look cool, but there's no way that's practical for a truck driven on the street.

I agree with your comparison to DeLorean, that is the first thought that came to my mind, but I don't really agree with your harsh criticism of the design though. More so because it is not out yet in production and I am sure a few things will change. But, your criticism is mainly towards the design and I really think that what makes this design unique is that the clean long lines without any trim cutting it. It actually reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings... I mean they criticized his designs as well saying that there were a lot of straight lines... and of course the roof leaked LOL. I hope the roof of the Cybertruck doesn't leak haha... I have a unique sense of admiration for people who buck the trend and propose radical designs and sure it might go the Aztec way and fall flat on its face but I think this idea and design has wheels (pun intended).

Why should it be like any other car? Who makes these rules? When you drop all conventional thinking and take a new unique approach maybe something wonderful might come?
