Agreed - anything over a thousand to me is used - I might consider lower being used as well - to me it depends on several other factors but that many miles- it's not new. Not IMO.

I would consider around 300mi new, if only because the dealer went ahead and broke the engine in per manufacturer instructions found in the manual. That way folks test driving don't mess anything up on the new engines and can drive their truck home on the highway without any worry.

You can bet the dealership isn't expecting the same money for that truck as the 'new' (non demo) units. They may not say it, but they know it.

Test driving won't mess up a new engine - unless they romp the thing hard and rev it too high - or WORSE, lug it.
Otherwise, they can't mess it up. I take new vehicles and drive them. Vary speed, vary load, otherwise there's nothing special to do on any new engine.
I build engines - and once I break in the rings (in the first 10 miles or so), I drive them. Vary speed, vary load.

Right. I'm thinking of the folks who DON'T know that and just floor it right out of the parking lot

It is a good deal for a new vehicle, they are coming in under another dealer in the same town for the same vehicle, but I was under the impression until now that it was new new and probably would have driven up and not have known any better until I got there. I am glad I asked the mileage.

If the price is right for you, then all should be good.

I would agree as long as it's understood that it's not really new. As long as they honor all support and warranty, etc. and the price is right - I see one year old vehicles being sold with only a couple thousand on them fairly often. Someone buys, then things change, or they change their mind, etc. - but for me they'd have to spell things out.
I agree if you can deal with them, and that, and the price means you can afford one as opposed to not - then the rest is up to you
We can't tell you what to do or not, or buy it or not - only advice on miles and such. Right it what's right for you, not me.

One dealer told me they reduced the price of a demo $ 0.20 per mile. I think the price is whatever you can negotiate that you are satisfied with for a vehicle with 2,500 vs 10 miles. The miles would not bother me, but I would want atleast a $3,000 reduction below what an off the truck JT would cost.

It is not necessarily the miles that bother me but that I thought that I was negotiating for a 25 mile truck not a 2500 mile truck and that I had to ask 2 or 3 times before he told me the mileage.
