Well, hmm . . . it does look "the part," and the weight, if accurate, is inviting, but I still stand by my NOT 4 ME ! IT is a South African "Stainless Steel" Company, which is why it's made from stainless . Not against it being from S. Africa ! Stainless is a Very Poor INSULATOR and fact it, "difficult" to weld vs. other metals - I do not profess to be very knowledgable ! It will quickly get as cold or hot as the surrounding atmosphere - much more so (than fiberglass or composite) INSIDE when closed up . Another reason to go more high-tech with Composite materials . I do like the look / design, but things I do NOT like -- the HINGES . They are a "weak Link" to Easy break-in access . Needed to be Hidden hinges (such as, say, ARE's CAP rear door / higher end models) and More than the 2 per side . The "strengthened"(?) rear glass . . . what exactly IS that ? Now Gorilla Glass would be very nice or Security glass or Automotive grade glass !? And of course the ~$3200 to START is comparable to higher end Fiberglass Caps made in the USA, beckoning the question . . . ? . . . why so "inexpensive"? As in buying a 1st year model ANYTHING, I wonder why so many (relatively speaking, (here) are jumping on this, or at least saying they are ? Confusing to me . Well, I'll just be Mr. Caution and hope I won't have to play the "Cautionary Tale" teller, this time next year ! ? Can't wait to see everybody's new RLD Cap INSTALLED -- lots of pics please .

I think its generating a lot of buzz because there are zero other options designed specifically for the Gladiator bed. People want something vertical, and RSI canopies/caps are extremely well rated and reviewed. The strength factor is there, and will take a heavy load. External hinges also match the look of our externally hinged jeep doors. It's a really exciting product at a very fair price!

That being said, I'm definitely waiting to see the final product and a solid review before I slap down my credit card. I will most likely wait a year to see what other manufacturers come up with, because i don't NEED a canopy yet. Some folks do though! There were dozens of bed rack system designs art SEMA this year, but none of them offer a dust and weather proof storage solution like these do.

Please do send some photos. I've got one on order as well. Really interested to see how it connects inside the box (and if I can get some bed side mounting solutions once RLD installed). Keep us posted!

I ordered mine in July. Ship was supposed to be late August. Then late September. Then Mid to late November. I ordered it primarily because I needed it in October for hunting season. Oh well.

Looks like a great Christmas present and just in time for my next suffer fest. Headed out for a 2 week Utah elk hunt after Christmas. It’s going to suck (except for the Moab part). But at least I can keep my gear dry and secure while I freeze my @$$ off...

Just ordered a black with white doors along with a Skycamp from Joost at Rhino Adventure Gear. We’ll see how long it takes!

FYI, he has an unallocated black with black doors coming in this month if anyone is interested. Tell him Elmer sent you

When they say solid windows, does that just mean they don’t slide? Are are they fixed to the box and can’t be opened like a door?

Was this picture taken in South Africa? Did you get an estimate do arrival time? I have on on order as well.

Two options for rear:

1. Glass door (no slide) (Std)
2. Solid door (no glass) ($$)

Three options for sides:

1. Solid door (no glass) (Std)
2. Glass door (no slide) ($$)
   
3. Glass door with slide ($$$)

All three sides will always have some sort of door that can be opened via the top hinge.
