The orange store sells these for $5 or so for a pkg. works on short or tall unistrut. Plan to use short strut to make bed rails and paint them black. I used a piece of short strut to make an adjustable track mount on the top of the dash, that I painted black, for my phone, 2 HAM radios and go pro using these clips in 1/4-20 thread. Worked fine.

The small problem with them is fitting in the short rail, I had to remove the spring to fit the shorter rail. On the full size rails they worked that was the same as I got. That's a photo of the 2 different ones I used the short one on front.

These are the style to use on the 1/2 strut. You have this option, a tightly wound spring on top style, and a metal spring clip on top.

To install these easier, start a bolt in the nut through the top spring, line nut up parallel to sides of strut, push in on bolt and turn clockwise. Once in you can thread the bolt out. You can also use the bolt in the nut to slide the nut to it's final location. Just push in slightly and slide it left or right.

I thought about getting a bag of them at first but I got the spring ones when I got the struts, M6 bolts, washers and ECT. I think that I did pick up a bag of them later.

The ones I posted a pick of above come in 1/4-20 thread as well as 3/8 and 1/2 thread. I used the 1/4 thread on the short piece I mounted the radios to as the holes in the radio brackets fit a 1/4 bolt and I have a 1/4-20 mount for the go-pro. In the bed I planned on using the 1/2” threaded ones to mount some d-rings or v-rings to the rails for extra tie downs that would be strong enough to attach a snugged up Rachet strap.

I like saving a few bucks here and there if I can justify what Im doing will work well, can handle what I want and isnt Rube Goldberg’ed, so I figured I would save a couple hundred bucks and make my own bed utility rails from parts sourced locally.

I took a trip down to my local big box store today. I picked up a couple Super Struts B Channel for $19 each, some M6 1.0x35mm bolts, lock washers and flat washers, oh, some end caps for the super struts. All told, Im into it for about $50. I need to rattle-can the struts or even take them to a powder coater. and maybe my tie-downs, which actually came with my Titan and its utility rail’s.

The only downside to using these tiedown is they need to be set into the rails prior to attaching the rails to the bed due to how friggin bulky they are.

I have the spray in bed-liner so the threads where the stock rails would have been are coated but not completely covered over.
I sacrificed one of the M6 bolts the pre-run it in and out of them all before installing the rails. This helped clean-up the threads. The sides I cut to 52”, the front I cut to 48” but could have done 48.75”.

On each of the side rails 1 hole needs to be drilled through the struts to match-up with the manufactures thread on the bed. 2 Holes fir the front strut need drilled. I used a 3/8” bit, it allows for a little wiggle room.

The bolt heads are a little taller than I like but dont pose any significant problems and the washers are a little softer or pliable than I like. But the selection at the big orange store wasnt that great, I’ll make my way over to a hardware store Im sure will have more of what I’d prefer to use and swap them out when it comes time to paint.

The pics are out of order, sorry.
Thanks for the tips between tou and the guy who made the video rhis was a breeze. Took longer to find it then in did to install it. I did pay a little more because i went with 6x 24” sections

Anyone found a solid accessory source for adding attachments to these tracks? I’ve always used some nutserts and eye hooks, but there’s got to be a keyword I’m missing in my search that shows me things made for hanging hilifts, lights, etc

Hunter not really sure of any other than looking at box stores and online surfing, then if you see something that might work. That's what I do for some things. When that fails or I don't like the $, I fabricated myself or have it done. Patience and files will make a lot of things . I do have that on some things not so much on others. (Not so much with me finding the dang brake controller plug) a day or two before.

Picked up these for tie downs. Figured the magnetic plates would keep them from rattling. $25 - 30 for the lot.
4 D-rings from Lowe’s -
SmartStraps Steel Strap Anchor (4-Piece) - $5.78

Home depot
Superstrut 1/4-in Cone Strut Nut - 5 pack x2 -
Supermag 1/4” strut mag washers 5-pack x2 - $5.50 ea
1” x 1/4” bolts x 8

@Red Hot Sloth you show M6 1.0 bolts for mounting the rails. I’m thinking I’m gonna do the same as you did on my JTR for more versatile tie down points. My question is about the threads that are pre tapped into the bed. Mainly the ones circled in the pic below. There are two holes in the corner of the bed, one is open and one is threaded. I’m thinking of using those two to mount my HAM radio antenna using an L bracket, but the threaded one is half full of bed liner spray. I’ve got a tap and die set but was hoping to make sure I use the right tap to clean it out so I don’t screw up the threads. Can you or anyone else confirm that it is m6 1.0 threads also??

Really looking around hard for accessories that look great on the Wellbuilt strut rail system.

Any and all ideas / pictures / sourcing / concepts will be rewarded by the Dali Lamma, which is nice!
So we got that going for us!

mostly looking for great tie down options, cleats, rubber loop / Velcro holders And any other ideas.

Any update on Toyota cleats fitting the rail? For some reason they are much cheaper than the Nissan cleats.

I went with Built Right rails, some Home Depot strut hardware and eye bolts and a couple quick fists. Nothing fancy. Works ok. Gotta use tools to move the quick fists. I can hand tighten the eye bolts pretty well with no tools.
