Well the wife wanted to do a raised garden, so we purchased 28 bags of Garden soil and some mulch. About 1100 lbs of payload. It was not on the overloads but there was only about a sheet paper between the bumper and the stop. It was about a 30 mile trip home and it handled great! Took it very easy on the corners. It pulled 8th gear pretty well on the interstate doing 60. Over all I am happy, you can use this jeep as a truck still. I did find that the tail gate is a bit fragile.

Those are not overloads they are bump stops. You have maxed out the springs and then some. Was probably a rough ride if you hit any bumps or potholes.

Those are bump stops and you were overloaded. That said the MOPAR spring rate are at/exceed the stop spring rates so it should be as good as stock.

Doesn't Jeep claim a payload of 1,600 pounds? I don't see that happening given your photos.

It road great on the way home. I was surprised to see it was that low because it soaked up the bumps really well.

I have a max Tow sport S. So it is suppose to be 1600lbs, but I think this is about as much as I ever wanna do. As bad as it looks it handled pretty well.
Fair enough. It's probably better to ignore how i feel about so much drop and trust that the engineers wouldn't give it that rating if it wasn't capable of it.

Close indeed but sounds like the rig handled the weight. With driver, any passengers, and load, you were probably hitting close that the MaxTow rating. I have a Max Tow as well so thanks for sharing. Good to see.

I am a bit disappointed, but it is a midsize truck, with a lift kit. In this day and age we are used to getting it all, but truthfully it is a tall order to get off road and workability all in one package. Next time I will use my trailer with a weight distribution hitch. I think it was a good test. Worst case scenario I mess up these parts and I have to buy bigger and better ones lol

Did I miss something. OP said it was about 1100 lbs. In bed, almost on bumpstops. If the Max Tow is about 1600 lbs, I think something is not right. The thread title states "with Mopar lift". I haven't heard of each model (Sport, Overland and Rubi) having different spring rates with lift springs. Aren't all Mopar lift springs rated the same? If this is true, then all liftes Max Tows have lost the payload ratings.

I have only towed with WD, not without. My travel trailer is around 3500 pounds total, estimated based on dry weight being just under 3k. Tongue is around 450. I use a generic Reese WD system rated for 600 pounds, and it works great. Just zero change in balance, once I got it tuned in (and you really should read their directions, everyone at the trailer dealer and the RV park has given me bad advice about it).

Is the payload amount 1600lbs for the bed, or total payload including occupants?

I think the MOPAR lift spring rates might even be higher.
