My riding buddies and me went out to Ouray a few years ago on the enduro bikes for a week. Rode all the passes and any trail we could find. Absolutely beautiful scenery unfortunately the road required 100% of your attention most of the time.

I look at some of the video from the helmet cameras and realize just how steep it is. Some was challenging on a motorcycle but most of that was loose rock.

Poughkeepsie was a bitch on a bike.
Gotta give you credit. I watched some guys on a few trails out there on bikes. It looked hard to keep control.

Did you take the bypass around the wall or can you climb that on a bike?

we were going down and yup, we all rode the bikes off the wall. The oldest in our group was 64 and the youngest was 40 at the time

That's fantastic!

For those of you who haven't seen the wall on Poughkeepsie, here is a short vid of me coming down it in my Wrangler so I could go up it again. I bypassed some of the rocks on the top just to get back to the bottom easily. Vids never show how steep and big obstacles are in real life. This had to be interesting on a motorcycle to say the least.

Forgive the quality, it was just a quick vid on a phone.

I recommend to anyone to go out there at least once. If you don't you are missing the views of a lifetime. Well worth it.

Black bear pass is great. i tried numerous times while i lived out west and it was always closed for one reason or another. This summer my woman and i flew to CO, rented a wrangler sahara, and road tripped around trails for a week.

highly recommend it.
