Hey guys when installing the weight distribution hitch did install it as a drop or a rise?
Mine is on a slight rise, just a tad over the receiver, that being said my trailer rides pretty high on larger tires. That was the height needed to set it level including the loss of rake with the squat with the WDH installed. It was a pain in the ass processes of adjusting all of those things back and forth and of course moving the ball required some hefty wrenches

That's not a Uconnect issue, that is designed in by Android. If the cable is connected so that Android Auto will run, Maps will not come up on the phone. If you send an address to Maps, or try to bring up directions, it will come up on the Map screen on Android Auto.
Good point. I have never even tried the send an address function. I just find it interesting the app choice that android auto restricts

It towed like a champ. averaged 10 mpg 75% flat 25% hills. i do have to make some adjustments to the WDH to get it perfect but it was fine for bringing it home.

Gosh that looks dangerous. I can’t believe someone actually bought a gladiator to tow something that was slightly heavy. As others have stated, you should really only be towing 50% of your tow capacity. Jeep’s numbers aren’t really meant to be used in “real use”.

Ok Jk.

Good to see someone else using their gladiator safety, and optimizing its tow capabilities.

It’s funny people will tow 3500 with a JLU all Day long. But when someone tries to tow 6000 with even a max tow people freak out saying it’s not safe. Good looking set up- I’m so glad I went with a bigger TT, it’s truly Glamping at its finest!

Man that is a sweet setup. We had a pop up last summer so this is a big upgrade for us. We may go bigger in 2022 if we are really enjoying it.

An absolutely ludicrous claim.

On the WDH...I think it's mandatory for anything more than 1-2k pounds. Note that the hitch experts say the bars should be parallel to the frame of the trailer, and I see a lot with them angled upward. The manual that came with mine had a very specific set of steps to adjust it, and when I did it carefully then re-checked it, I got fantastic results that are easy to repeat every time I tow.

went on a three week 4000 mile trip this fall out west and it towed great. 7000 pounds. removed my front heavy duty bumper with winch, and my rooftop tent mounts to get rid of some weight off of the jeep.

Brake controller yes, WD hitch yes. I tow 5500lb TT several hours have redarc and Blue Ox hitch. It would seriously risk your life and everyone else’s to just hookup and go without these. The 8spd auto on 3.6 does great job of anticipated shifts up and down hills to stay on power band so it’s comfortable although you must lower speed for wind. More torque would be great but if I towed often I’d get diesel

Ah, alright, sorry. I interpreted that as JK as in well, the Wrangler. It didn't make sense, but that's how I saw it.

So far I've only towed around 3500 with the JT. Based on that, my personal comfort level in the mountainous terrain around here would be around 5k or just a little more.
