There's quite a few here that have gone through @spenchey at Spirit Lake, and he's awesome. Easiest buying experience in my 35 years of driving. We're busy digging out from our recent snow storm in Denver, but already had the JT out without issue. That's a 4' drywall square for reference.

Not sure how this would compare to your goal off invoice but we picked ours up $1000 shy of 20% off sticker. You need to find one on a lot that has what you want. You can’t save much ordering one I wouldn’t think.

I just bought at 4% (3+ affiliate) off invoice. Add in the $1500 rebate and I paid 11% below msrp. I'm good with that. I didn't need to shop around for weeks pitting dealer against dealer. Or travel 500 miles to get it. I'm sure I could have done a little better. But most dealers that do 8-10% under invoice only work well without a trade. My dealer did good by me.

There were none on the lot or within 500 miles that had what I wanted so we went with ordering. Everyone is saying the opposite pricing wise according to this forum. I'll be picking it up the week of 4/12 so I'll let y'all know what I end up getting.

It not having a trade is the factor then I may be in luck. I'm putting quite a bit down instead of trading in anything.

In that case you should be golden. Koons in Vienna Virginia has some of the best deals I've seen. I've heard some people getting a much as 8% below invoice. But they do lowball on trade. That's why I passed on them a few years ago.

Did you negotiate the price before ordering?? Some dealers only cut those great deals on in stock inventory. My dealer does the same percentage off invoice whether you buy off the lot or you order. That is a big plus in my book. Yeah the deal isn't as good as some may have got. But I got exactly what I wanted instead of getting a real good price on something that wasn't equipped like I wanted.

Not before ordering but this has been addressed earlier in the thread. If they can't get me a price I like then I can walk away. If that happens then I have a 2nd dealer that already has agreed to give me a deal I'm happy with.

Gotcha. Didn't read the whole thread. Personally I would have negotiated the price and got it in writing before going through the hassle of ordering. I'd probably be pretty pissed if I waited all that time just to be let down when it arrived.

Back in 2017 I ordered a 2 door Chief Blue Big Bear. My absolute favorite Jeep color ever. Already had a price and deal negotiated. Unfortunately nothing on paper. When it arrived they dealer actually backed out on their original deal. And I was trading in a 2015 Wrangler that I bought from them. I was crushed. I was so jaded I walked away from owning a Jeep period for a while.

I always consider this the one that got away.

I really hope I don't have an experience like that but overall I'm pretty confident things will be okay. That is a really nice blue by the way!

Hope all goes well and you get the deal you want.

I love chief blue. When I found out they opened it up again for the JL for a limited run it brought me back. I was going to order one but missed it by a week or so. My biggest fear is they offer it on the Gladiator in a year or two. I'll be honest I'll probably do anything I can to trade.

You should have appease negotiated price and have a buyers order at time of build and deposit. They can’t actually do the final paper work u til the truck comes in and at that time they’ll apply any rebates or incentives. Once it’s there they have ya by the balls a little more. I just went through process and had a signed buyers order when I told them to place the order.

I ordered a Mojave 8% below invoice with FCA affiliate through work (Bridgestone), Chrysler financing (will wait ~9 months then refi with my credit union), and 6% by ordering from Gupton just outside Nashville.

Pricing was guaranteed in writing (plus incentives)before order was placed.

No trade, credit app approved, $20k down-plus $1k deposit.

Order placed 2/26, already in shipping status to dealership.

Sorry still learning. If I was to order on line I should contact dealer (Gupton) to start the process with them and get the details ironed out before placing the order online?
