Hi Tango! Can you post a picture from the front? I’m looking to buy these same wheels and I’m interested to see how much poke these wheels have, thx!
Sure!
They're fairly tucked in, which is what I wanted.

I finished my “stealth” winch install with manual shutoff.
Pretty happy with how it looks.

My favorite winch install!

questions

1: any safety issues with rotating gearbox?

2: do you think if left as new (no gearbox rotation but still relo’ing the control box) the cover plate would go back on? I was thinking of having a non descriptive, extended clutch handle fabricated and poke through the winch cover plate. I was contemplating something like a key so I could remove it and prevent zombies from free spooling out and cutting the line and stealing my $250 factor55 hook.

3: any chance if installing the plastic trim piece to further cover the synthetic rope? Lots of sun here and I park outside

Thanks! I love seeing all the cool ideas and stuff people come up with on here. Just another idea I took from here.

1. don’t see any safety issue. Actually the smittybilt instructions cover rotating the gearbox so they think it’s ok.

2. I thought of the same thing at first, but the clutch handle would hit the cover plate. I thought about trying to drill it and get longer handle or something but makes way more sense to rotate gearbox. It was easy, hides, has plenty of room for your hand to fit.

3. I wish plastic piece for back on! Everything blocks it, the winch spook would interfere and the wiring on the right takes up a bit of room as well there. I wonder ifyou could somehow mount it higher with longer plugs or something? I’ve been thinking of a way to cover it but was just thinking of a plastic plate covering the spool or something

Dropped mine off this morning to get the mopar 2in lift installed as well as a Steer Smarts YETI adjustable track bar! I get it back Friday, just in time for a trip to Utah ?

Hoping my 35s won't have too much of a a roller skate look...I've agreed to refrain from regearing and upgrading to 37s at least until the current 35s wear out :CWL:

They came with the jl we got last month and the gf will never use them. We weren’t looking for them, but it was the only jl in sarge with the options she wanted.

I found them oddly enough on craigslist. A woman decided that she did not have room for the six boxes in her home or garage and said she would never use them. I scooped them up for an amazing deal. Too bad repainting them is a little pricey but so worth it.
I would keep an eye on craigslist for them. I got lucky

I think they will look so sweet on the JT. What part of Northeast Pa are you from? I am in the willow grove area often. Did you get a good price for the paint job?

jessup(Scranton area). I have a body shop 2 houses down from me. He has done all the suspension work on all my jeeps. Charging me $400 total. I think that’s pretty good, got a quote at a place to have them wrapped in black since the red wouldn’t match up, and they wanted $300.

Rubi stripped!

I’ve been wanting to remove the doors since I bought it! Finally getting some warm temps, so off they went!
I’ll probably have to put em back on here as rain comes soon along with the chilly spring temps, but put on some door pins to make it a quick on and off, and the hangers arrive as well soon.
Likely will go with nicer mirrors, but damnit I wanted the doors off NOW! ?
