I bet this is controversial, but I don't want a propane stove. Prices of solar generators and batteries are coming down fast, and I'm leaning towards a microwave. If I want to cook on a flame, I'll bring a BBQ grill, otherwise, do what Semi Truckers do and just microwave it. I can't believe this thing will power a microwave and a toaster oven. I might even add a one burner induction stove. Also 700 w microwaves are only $50-$80, and are small.

More inspiration from Action Camper. By reversing the wedge, your head is now at the window end, and you don't have to turn around to go down the hatch.
Just hope the tent doesn't open while you're on the highway!

Here's another way to camp in the back of a Gladiator. Press a button and 30 seconds later, you can walk and sleep in the 5 ft. bed. If anyone has one of these on a Gladiator, we would love to see it.

While I'm shopping for a used JLU hardtop to stretch into my build, I keep investigating other ways besides fiberglass to make the camper. I like the idea of using thin gage aluminum and bending over curved ribs/frame for the side corners and top. The problem with aluminum and sheetmetal has always been how to make rounded 3 way corners. Looks like I found what I was looking for from U-haul.

I'll add, depending on who makes the corners they are crazy strong. I had a Marathon truck body on my Fuso FG and drove into my deck's 8"x18" glulam hitting the corner of the box. The glulam got the dent, not the truck box.

Look what I picked up yesterday! Time to stop talking and start building. It's a new MOPAR JT hardtop. I'm going to cut and stretch the hardtop, then build the roof top tent. Looks like I'll be keeping the freedom tops in this build.

Here is a good video about an interior build out using black PVC foam board and ACM panels. This foam board is light and strong.
