For winch plates, I went with warn. It’s a known commodity that works.

It’s install was easy and precise.

It might be a few bucks more than someone else? But zero headaches are worth a few bucks.

I ordered mine as well today. Haven't begun the winch plate research. Perhaps @ShadowsPapa or someone running this particular winch will chime in. Also, what is the install gonna entail? Removing the bumper, I will not need to trim anything? Badlands Apex 12k
There are numerous YT videos covering the install with the factory steel bumper. It fits.

My concern may be unfounded, but I have a diesel which has a battery up against the passenger side firewall. I’m wondering if the powerlines are long enough to reach all the way to that part of the firewall.

I went with a Grimm Off Road winch plate, and installed the Badlands Apex 12K winch.
The winch I bought with a 25% off coupon that could only be used on Memorial Day. So under $500, and no sales tax here in NH.
After installation I had to remove the bull bar from the bumper as the clutch lever would hit it.
The other thing I noticed is you can't see the the drum, so there is no way to tell if the rope is spooling correctly. Has anyone else had these 2 issues?

My winch is supposedly going to be delivered tomorrow, hoping I can install this weekend.. did you find a bull bar solution? Or just leaving it off?

svc707 makes the spacer plates that can be used to space the bumper away from the winch if there's a clearance issue like the steel bumper and Apex winch may have.

the power lines should be just fine. My warn had slack/some to spare

I think I'm gonna install this and the badlands 12k today. Anything I should know before I get started?
Super straight forward just remove the bumper/skid plate then bolt on. I put my winch on after I mounted the plate, some guys mount the winch onto the plate then install, that works well if you have a buddy to hold it while you bolt if not it’s kinda difficult.

I went with this one. Easy to install no modifications or spacers needed and it didn’t come with the ugly lip the warn one has for the license plate. That was this only reason I didn’t get the warn one.

How could it be any different as far as spacers or not, mods or not?
The issue is the size of the winch, not the plate it's mounted to, clearing the top of the MOPAR steel bumper.

If the plate moved the winch back, it would hit the grill. If the plate moved the winch forward, it would hit the bumper.
The plate can't determine whether or not a winch will fit easily with no mods. The winch determines that.
When the bumper is installed right against the frame horns like usual, like factory, there's only so much space between the back edge of the top of the bumper and the grill. A winch plate can't change that.

It has to locate that winch in the standard position. It can't move it lower or higher, forward or rearward.
The issue of clearance isn't the plate, it's the size and shape of the winch.

A Warn 10k and 12K fit no issues, not cutting no mods. The Warn mount required you to drill out the skid plate holes because the mount moved the location of the holes IF I recall correctly, I can’t remember. Can’t say that about any other brand winch as I haven’t tested those but both the Warn 10k and 12k fit with zero issue.
