I think this pretty much means the front will be identical to the JL. Even if an early mockup seems what they were thinking from the get go. There go my dreams of something more like the Crew Chief :(
I was thinking FCA might cheap out and basically give us the Brute conversion but this is promising to hear. Now here's to hoping they design it to look distinct from the JL, preferably with some Crew Chief styling.
I think the aftermarket is going to be all over the JT. They would be stupid not to. Any company like LEER making truck caps should be licking their paws to get into the JEEP market which is bigger than most of their markets combined Im sure.
If they don't someone else will because there will...
That's some awesome info, thank you! Do you have the JT wheelbase measurement?
Do we know for sure these axles will be shared between JT and JL? Should be a huge improvement in braking
I think that's the general consensus out there. I'm not sure if it's based in any truth but I remember some articles back in the day cited that insiders were considering either Gladiator or Gladiator. I prefer Gladiator myself.
Spare location looks clean and doesn't take up room in the bed so that's good.
Also noticed this is either a mule or they are going to recycle some current parts. The windshield with the Jeep grille decal which is not even on the JL prototypes and the interior (rearview mirror mount, air vent...
Yea a little disappointed. Isn't the JT and JL/JLU going to be built on different plants? I thought because of that we might get a unique JT front end but doesn't look like it's happening..
Unless they have drastically lengthened the JLU it seems the JT is destined to be a midsize pickup if they share the same frame/underpinnings. There's still no definitive proof of that but the FCA brass keep calling it the Wrangler pickup so it seems like it.
It makes more sense too when you...
Along the lines of what you are saying though, a delay in the diesel may be a very good reason to hold up the JT. If they want to improve that tow rating the diesel will be key.
