  1. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

The 3.6 is not known to mechanically shear(break down) oil except in one case, and that is if one is a chronic short tripper specially in the winter. Fuel is what thins out the oil. Other than that no shearing happens. You should know better. Or you are just used to Blackstone reports that 99%...

Ambient temperatures don't matter, really? Have you checked your oil temp in the winter? When was the last time you saw 240 degrees in the winter?
  3. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

The thickest 0W-20 is 9.0 cSt at 212 degree F, most 0W-20s are 8.2-8.4. Now imagine that at 240 degrees F, now we are talking 0w-16 or lower. 0W-20 is fine for daily driving, not for offroading in the desert heat or towing in heat.

Thick oil doesn't hurt anything, it is the other way around. When your oil temp reaches 230 and 240 degrees on the trail, you don't want XW-20 anything there. Again, I welcome you to BITOG.

I welcome you to visit BITOG and see how the oil folks react to your gibberish.
  6. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

That's for CAFE reasons, not for your engine's longevity. Do you really trust Jeep?
  7. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

Is this how a new member is welcome here, with name calling and all?
  8. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

I meant that when 0w20 is at 160 degrees, oil pump is having issues getting it where it should be?
  9. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

So at that point oil is thick and "not reaching where it should?"
  10. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

At 160 degrees, 0w20 is thicker than 5w30, so at that temperature the motor is doomed?
  11. 0W-40 in PUG 3.6

They also recommend their Mopar oil, their recommendation doesn't mean anything
