Bed length is one of those damned if you do damned if you don't things. Make it shorter and it might be too short for some people's uses, too long and it might be overkill for most people's uses and possibly look awkward.
Thank goodness the the Prangler never came to be but this mash-up is one of the kookiest ideas I've seen lol. :surprised:
From Jalopnik:
Pre-production mules are, by their very nature, strange, chimera-like beasts, made from whatever was handy with little regard to how they look. As a...
That's because the JL basically looks like the JK except for some of the new styling from the windshield forward. Take away the JL's new side body line and fender vents (which OP says isn't on the pickup) and they look even more alike.
Looking great. This thing is going to be so popular.
But if anyone's gonna be trailing or crawling the JT, it's gonna need a substantial lift to improve the departure angle.
Ugh skipped my coffee this morning. Was thinking of the upcoming Ford Ranger
So pie isn't as big as I thought, but still over 400k midsize trucks sold last year.
That's a BIG pie you're talking about. Ford alone sells 60,000-70,000 F-150s a MONTH! Here were last year's midsize truck sales:
F-150: over 700k
Tacoma: 191k
Colorado: 108k
Frontier: 86k
Ridgeline: 23k
So over a million midsize trucks were sold last year alone.
With all due respect that's just your feeling. I haven't read or heard anything here or elsewhere about this being true. The pickup concepts have all looked great and well received. I'm sure Jeep has gotten and will consider the great feedback on them from enthusiasts.
Jeep plans to sell over...
From what I'm reading it sounds like how high the tow capacity is will depend in large part on whether the JT is built on the RAM platform or JL platform? Would that decision affect its price too?
Powered sliding soft top would be convenient especially in places where the weather changes often but if the roof panels are like in the renderings and clay model concept they'll already be pretty convenient to remove and install.
Looks like the tail lights will finally get some flair! They seem to feature an X design without looking exactly like the Renegade's lights.
The pics are blurry but from what I can tell the X design actually reminds me of the design of military jerrycans, which would be a cool look!
One thing's for sure - if FCA's goal is to attract new customers to the Wrangler model rather than just shifting Jeep customers from one Wrangler model to another, then the Wrangler pickup must have a much higher towing capacity than the JK Unlimited. That's the only way it'll attract new...
If the JL has a removable roof this should be doable from a cost perspective on the pickup tho it always looks strange to me seeing the doors/window frames without the top. Here's some better ideas..
Don't know if you guys caught news of this year's Easter Jeep Safari but there are a few Jeep...
Most JK owners have no idea how to fold down the windshield, some may not even know it has that ability. It's not crucial but the removable top and doors are and those better stay.
I would guess it's not just about cost of designing a folding windshield but that the greater rake makes for...
