As RedTRex said, it looks like it replaced the 12V power outlet in the dash. Interesting that they said it was not an option then it shows up?

Maybe it wasn't an option, then they heard the feedback.
From what they said at the reveal it wasn't a factory option but could be purchased through Mopar accessories. You are probably right that so many people questioned the decision that they rolled it into the factory build and price tool.

That would be good news. A brake controller is a must on a truck with solid axles and flexy suspension. Anything that can help control large loads is a plus.

Another laughable update today:

Trailer brake controller part number 82215652 will not be available in December. (anybody surprised?)

I went this route and to be honest, it's probably a cleaner install than the MOPAR. Completely plug and play, drill one hole in the knee panel, took less than 45 mins to install. This video is great at showing exactly what to do.
