No rear carpet

Just noticed that carpet is not offered in the rear of any models, just front seat area being carpeted on all models. Certain some of you would like to have carpet in the front. And some of you might like to have no carpet at all. I love the fact that my FJ Cruiser has no carpet at all. It’s great for getting a boat out of the water. Just jump in with water filled shoes and don’t worry about water getting the carpet wet, same thing with mud. Just wipe clean.

If you look up from that section to the consoles and storage there is the following line:

Rear Seat / Wheelhouse / Cargo Carpet

From all the videos, it appears that the entire cabin is carpeted. Chances are it is like the Wrangler, it will be easy to remove with floor drain holes.

Ok I see the that now, under wheelhouse / cargo carpet. Is shown for all models. I guess that is their way of saying back seat area. Will check this out when they get on dealers lots in April. Thanks.

Upon checking a little further I think that the rear flat section of the floor is actually rubber. And from there where it goes rearward and up at an angle to the area where the under seat storage box goes, that area appears to have carpet on it. I think that is the area they refer to as the “wheelhouse.” I zoomed in and cropped a floor picture and on the flat section you will see some squiggly lines on the flat part of the floor. I have never seen any such lines on any carpet. So I think the rear section is half rubber and half carpet. And I would frankly like it just that way.

So is the floor lined with something or bare metal? I think if I were using it to pull a boat of of the water for instance, I would remove the seats and all the carpet and rhino line the floor and then put the seats back with out the carpet.

The squiggly line area is slush mats, we have them in our JLU... if it’s like that then there is carpet under that area.

I tend to agree with you, almost 100 percent. In some still pictures from the passenger side it clearly looks like a rubber floor, did not see any rubber floor mat edges. And in one video that I saw it clearly looked like a rubber inserted floor slush mat with edges that were very easy to see and “JEEP” embossed on the side of the mat by the door. Will just have to wait until I see this beast in person at a local dealership. If it’s got carpet then then first thing to go into the truck will have to be some rubber slush mats front and back and in the bed as well.

Rubber matt over a bare floor; doubtful, have you seen the paint jobs in these things? In the autotrader video looked like carpet to me.

In this pic you can clearly see carpet in the area around the Jack and behind the plastic parts. Typical short black Jeep carpet.

FYI I found a video that had a good shot of these rubber slush mats. Just zoom in and you will clearly see “JEEP” written on the mat and you will also see 2 round snap in points so they don’t slide around. One of them is just to the right of where it says JEEP and the other one is just the the left of where it says JEEP.

how do JL slushmats compare to husky or weathertech? That'll give an idea if the JT slushmats will be good or bad.
