I'll appreciate you for that. Thank you. So check this out. An engine stamped "Jeep". Maybe all years have that? IDK. And, odd fact, font matches the badging! They worried about font on an engine stamp in 1964. Who knew?!? Hey look deeper, see the Holley stamp!!!!

thats the same engine my willys pick up would of had when it left the factory as its a 6-230 model
from what ive heard the valve train can be troublesome but i guess if you stay on top of maintainance you should be ok

I'm good for that "Forty One" Ninety. 4190 First Edition. Nice ring to it, sweet ass JT. Not this first round, but when one pops up in a couple years I'll grab it up used, or get a similarly cool package new when available later, especially since Jeep made the effort to price sensibly. I'm all in, just later on.
Based on what it will cost for the build I want, I may be following you down the classic path to get a truck bed, but later on.

Right? And the pics don't tell it. Get this, has a matching spare. I'm one fortunate mfer about now. Goes to the 'dude I trust who speaks trucks' this weekend. If it checks out, get insurance and boom DD. Fingers crossed.

Oh, I need to read up on a whole new engine. It has this huge looking cover. Wondering if that has to do with the tornado part. I have all the right books, specs, manuals.

It looks awesome. Also, I think you are the first one on the forum to have a Gladiator.
These are out there but hard to acquire. I got ripped off once, and false advertised a few times, and offered a ton to a guy who finally just couldn't part with his before hitting on this one. No idea on the forum who has one, we should find out somehow. Maybe a post listing everything Jeep vehicle in a poll?

I remember reading you before I actually joined. I got the JT fever and realized I won't allow myself to spend more than 40K on any vehicle, so that forced switch to resto pretty quickly. Old jeeps are a cheap hobby compared to new, for sure.

Edit: lol you are talking used 2020. Agree on that. First used 2020 with one of my three builds under 40K OTD, I might just grab. Plus we learn about all the gremlins.

Any of the factory original 230 Tornado engines I have seen have the Jeep stamping. Beautiful J series truck!

Renegade! You gotta love the Jeep fever. Great color leather or vinyl wrap, looks decent on a 73 and still today, that combo green and "saddle" coloration. Cool for one that age to have the wrap on the roll bar. Is it the straight six? Is that a giant speaker?! So cool seeing a right driver. Lol. Post pics when you get! Have fun

Love the CJ6! I have only ever seen a couple of them but man are they cool. Makes me miss the CJ7 I had for a brief time.
