I would buy that 2005 extended cab right now to use as a platform for my overlanding build. (The green color is similar to my old 97 TJ hardtop).

I would buy either, to be honest, but I like the newer styling of the JLs. That and that blue is just drop dead gorgeous ...

I voted for the J6 but would buy an extended cab JT before the 4 door JT if the regular cab 6 foot bed was not offered. For me, the 4 door with 5 foot bed is not a practical off-road vehicle because it is to long to turn around on the tight and twisty two track trails that I enjoy exploring where I live. I haul our mountain bikes in the bed and would not have to remove the front tire if hauled in a 6 foot bed. My wife and I push the limits of exploring the back woods and when we are not able to continue any further in our current JKUR we hike or mountain bike to continue our exploration. When we return to the jeep it would be nice to not have to deal with the taking the often muddy front tires off of the bikes to be able to fit them in the bed. Backtracking is challenging at times with our JK and of which would be impossible with the 4 door JT. Our JK's rear backup camera aids our efforts along with one of us spotting. The four door JT's rear camera would be useless for me if hauling requires the tailgate to be in the open or down position which is a major design flaw for our intended use.

BTW thanks for starting this thread - the more of these the better.

Jeep reads these forums and the more they see of the 2-door/extended cab movement the better. They need to get off this strict crew cab, lifestyle-truck mind set and build a well-rounded offering of Jeep trucks

The original extended cab in 2005 was fantastic! I think if memory serves it had an expandable bulkhead so the rear wall of the cab could come forward to expand the bed - like the former Chevy Avalanche.

The survey responses in this thread so far indicate that Jeep needs to build both a regular cab and an extended cab!

A poll on Car and Driver asks this question:

Do you think Jeep should sell the J6?

And the results....98% Totally, two-door trucks are awesome - to 2% Nah! I prefer four-door trucks

C'MON JEEP BUILD THE J6!!!!!!

Maybe AEV will convert them for us. That option will be a bit pricey though.

Extended cab jumped out into the lead early in the polls, but regular cab caught up, then gained a slight lead. Now they are running dead even.
Kinda like watching March Madness. Maybe we will get a buzzer beater in overtime.

We need Jeep to actually produce these vehicles from the factory - replacement kits are crap and add cost that few people want to pay.
