A while back I thought i heard EVO say that 35" were fine with stock axles, but 37" you probably should gusset some things.

Are any of you with 37" and 2"+ lift concerned? What have you learned from the JL crowd?

prolly cause I'm totally past denial.

I know I'm a poser,
and wear and tear won't affect shit before I get bored and go diesel in early 2021.

I don't have any experience with the JL, but with the JK 37s put a strain on the axles you don't see with 35s and below. Definitely gussets, and chromally shafts. The splines will fatigue over time.

I just put 2 1/2 inch Rough Country lift, Rhino wheels and 37 Toyos. I will not be doing radical back woods off road with mine otherwise no way I’d pushed her with this set up. First off the suspension isn’t high enough for the tires and secondly too much stress on all the other factory components imo. So I would not go the 37 route if your gonna do serious off road back woods adventures unless your wanting to modify many other parts.

I think it depends upon how you plan on using your truck. If you are doing expedition wheeling, where you rarely are going to need to use the lockers, and you aren't bouncing through things and a higher throttle, I'd sincerely doubt that you'd ever have a problem with 37s on stock axles.

If you are going to rock crawl harder stuff or bounce through things locked, then you'd probably at least want chromoly axle shafts, maybe a truss on the front axle, and hydro assist steering. However, my take is that the Gladiator isn't really designed for that kind of thing, and I'd think it would be better to instead have a rock buggy or a built Wrangler for that kind of thing--maybe using the Gladiator as your tow rig.

another billings guy!

thanks for your input. I'm not doing any serious rock crawling for a few years, if ever, but I always like to learn.
