Yeah, I'm struggling with value for dollar on this truck . . . a V8 would change that for me. Or larger discounts! On the other hand, you guys get to enjoy yours now.

OK folks sit down: 2017 F 350 Crew Cab, Long Bed, 6.7 Diesel ($9K+ option) King Ranch, just about every option Ford offer in '17, I drove it out after my rebates etc at almost $68, almost $69k. Look at the pics and see what $60+k gets you in a REAL truck.

There is NO comparo from a F 350 to a GladWagon, none with the exception of offroad ??? My F 350 will payload more than the tow of the JT.

Running the numbers: JLU Rubicon same option as my JT I have on order $57,950!
My Gladwagon JT Rubicon $60,825

Almost $3k diff, have not done a print out to isolate the difference in cost.

Fact is and I would bet on this. The Jeep J X is the most profitable car at FCA. Back in my consulting days at a Big 5 group I was friends with one of the Consulting CPA's, his specialty was Automotive and he only worked at the Big 3 doing audits. Here is what he told me one eve. Time, mid 90's: Corvette rolls off the assembly line at a dead cost of $19,xxx. Jeep Wranglers about $6,xxx, the stripped down Jeeps, no AC etc rolled off the line as low as almost $3k

If you look at the base price of a sport vs a Rubi it $10k diff.

IMO the entire Jeep line is overpriced, prob around $10k.

For you old timers, remember when MB bought Chrysler? Do you remember that MB was going to KILL off the Wrangler...because and in spite of it being the most profitable auto in their lineup they did not sell many, so it did not contribute much to Chry bottom line. Saharah was the top of the line and even did not come with Chry AC, it was an aftermarket unit that barely cooled the cabin on a warm day let alone a hot day. What I think, MB, bunch of Karuts wanted to kill the Jeep because it ran their Nazi butts over in WWII. MAYBE it's changed in the past 20 years, but I lived in Ger in the 40's, 70's, 80's and 90's and I can say because I did a lot of business on the economy they did not like us, to be exact they hate our guts.

All that said, been sitting behind the wheel of a Jeep for 55 years, love them, gonna buy them anyhow!

When nothing else directly compares . . .

. . . but the Bronco is coming.

The Gladiator excitement is prolly what prompted the recent (possible) full size Bronco mule sighting.

I don't think you can compare the Jeep to anything else out there, there is NOTHING like a Jeep and Jeep knows it!

Several years ago Jeep sent me a letter telling me I was one of the first 50 people to order a Jeep Rubicon 2003, they asked if I was willing to meet with the Jeep Rubicon Engineers and the Director of Marketing. So I did, I think about 15 or 20 of us did.

So I did and when they found out I had been a Jeep driver since the 60's I drew a crowd of folks that were in the top levels of Jeep Wrangler line.

We talked for a couple of hours, lots of questions from me and from them.

But as we closed out the Head of marketing Jeep Wrangler asked me this: In your opinion what makes a jeep a jeep and if we changed and that feature was no longer there...My answer w/out hesitation: "Fold down windshield, removable doors, if they go away, it's no longer a Jeep, just another car and wannabe off-road vehicle".
The inside of my hood on my '03 Rubicon signed by, starting with the 1st name after Dan Mick . Moab 2003
Jeep Wrangle Brand Manager
Director of Jeep Marketing
Rubicon Engineer
Rubicon Suspension Engineer
Director Jeep Wrangler Manufacturing

If the doors and/or roof come off either or both of the new Broncos, then I for one will absolutely be comparing them. Never been a Ford guy though.

Love all my Jeeps and my favorite is now the Gladiator cause she’s unique and drives like no other Jeep I have ever owned.

Can’t go wrong with Ford and I am personal friends with biggest mid Atlantic ford dealer. He just came back from Vegas and saw the Bronco. He can’t describe it but said it’s awesome and worth the wait, I have the new Rangers and love them.
Put the factory Gladiator tires on the blue one.

Well I hope the new Broncos will be nice and boxy, but I'm betting they'll be rounded off. I don't expect to like them better than the JT, but I'm looking for more power for the money, frankly. Don't much want a turbo, though. Ah well. The 5.7 sadly isn't gonna happen in the JT, so I wait and think.
