Thanks! This fellow makes exceptional quality antenna mounts, at remarkably reasonable prices for the quality

some variation of one of these might be of help

I have heard that he is open to working with customers to adapt for specific needs
I have no affiliation, commercial or otherwise, just have bought and used his products and been very pleased
I've been wondering about this for some time.... I figured someone had to make one. I'm going to do a bit of research on this, but this is probably the route I would go.
So on Amazon Rugged Ridge said it needs some changes to work on the JL... but on CJ Pony Parts, it says it's compatible. Confusing.. . maybe there's a different part number.
I've decided to mount mine on the front bumper in the hole that is pre-drilled for a Dune Flag. We'll see how that goes.
Need to remove the outer wings of the steel bumper, then it is on the passenger's side.
whaaa? on the steel front bumper? Now I need to go look at my truck.
makes sense. good extra info.I had no issues with the front bumper last week on multiple Colorado trails. I does lean a bit forward but with a 5' Firestick it never hit the hood and was tuned perfectly for a good signal. Easy to remove. If you do go that route, I would suggest an angled stud.
Looks like breedlovemounts thought about this already:I'm trying to find a spot that is not in my way. The front bumper is a good spot, but I don't want to see it flopping around. The rear bumper is a good spot, but you'd have to get it in a really good spot for it not to be in the way of the tailgate.
I'm thinking another option may be between the cab and the bed. There's a good inch and change there. It could actually rest on the plastic of the bed side rail.
I'm also thinking of using a bracket that can bend down when I don't want it to look like an ant. or possibly a telescoping mount that would let me get the antenna even higher depending on where I am...
Still thinking...
