We were able to lend a hand but some folks weren’t as lucky. Hoping and praying for those who were in the Jeep that went over.

When I pulled the Ford out he took off without saying thanks and then 5 minutes later...The guy in the Raptor, turns out, was drunk. That’s gonna be an expensive recovery.

*IMOGENE PASS RESCUE*

A multi-agency technical rope rescue with threats of rockfall was required to rescue a couple who rolled their Jeep approximately 450 feet down steep terrain off Tomboy Road near Royer Gulch on their way to Telluride. More than 35 people including Telluride Fire Protection District EMS and Fire personnel, San Miguel Sheriff’s Deputies, San Miguel County Search and Rescue and willing bystanders participated in the nearly five-hour mission.

The Montrose couple, both 72yrs-old, sustained multiple, critical injuries, and were transported by Telluride EMS to the Telluride Medical Center and then flown by medical helicopters to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.

Crazy. I've done that trail a couple of times. Nothing really dangerous as long as your not distracted or drunk. I hope the TJ people were ok. I hope the Raptor guy went to jail. If he was drunk, he could have run somebody off the trail.

Man oh man, those tires look a bit worn on the older Jeep. You wonder if they had some kind of health incident. The other one, hard to figure that. If that's in a more dangerous spot? Yikes. Cool help tho .

I'm amazed they're alive after falling all that way! Just curious, how does insurance react typically to damage done while trail riding? Do they treat it different than the roadside?

Watching the OP video myu first thought was 'the guy had to be drinking' and I was right.

Drinking on a trail run can be deadly, I have seen it so many times.

The mangled Jeep, wow, surprised they were even alive.

Over the years I have seen several folks die out on the trails, it can be very dangerous...

There's a 75' drop to the river that gravity is tugging on here that the picture isn't showing. When he crawled out of it it wobbled so he was truly lucky.

We were surprised anyone survived too. It took an hour just to get one gurney down to them and there wasn't much movement in the vehicle. The drop off the road to where the Jeep came to rest was nearly straight down.

Pictures can be deceiving... but the trail doesn’t look particularly tight in this photo. How did they manage to go over?!?
