I asked the Gladiator group today and a guy posted that they are 23 lbs. for the wheel, and 64 for the tire. That's 87 freaking lbs., NOT counting balancing weights, valve stems, etc. Figure 88 lbs. per corner! What about weight on the OEM wheels. Seems to be an allusive spec.
The sport wheel/tire combo is 55 lbs. per corner.
So if your Rubicon is drinking fuel, that's why.
My 8.5" wide aftermarket wheels wrapped in 35" mud tires are 95 lbs. each for reference.
I'm shocked they'd use something so heavy on a stock vehicle.
Stock wheels are all 6.1" backspacing.so if the stock wheels are 7.5" wide, center is around 3.75", positive offset of 1.75", would mean the outside of the wheel is 2" past hub. assuming the 5.5" backspacing you quoted below.
The fuel recoil wheel is 8.5" wide, with a backspace of 4.5", doesn't that mean the outside of the wheel sticks out 4" past the hub?
So if I don't want it to stick out that much, I need to rethink some things.
7.5" width + 1" for lips = 8.5" divided by 2 = 4.25" centerline + 44mm = about 6.1" backspacing.
