Anyone have issues like this?
Just took delivery of my Rubicon Gladiator and am trying to get UConnect going. I have the Sirius subscription going as I had it from my previous vehicle. Called UConnect and they said my VIN is not in their system??
I am waiting for a return call as they have opened a ticket for this. Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hi tstugel,
It sounds like you are in contact with the appropriate team to have this addressed. However, if you do not hear from someone, please send our team a private message with your VIN so that we may look into this further.

I may have the same issue. JTR bought June 1st. Sirius works but the Sirius Guardian doesnt communicate with my gladiator. It fails to receive any commands from the app and when I do a locate it shows location from several days ago. Sirius Guardian support could not get the gladiator to respond and they said it was not communicating VIN or location. Took to dealer today. They said FCA is aware of the issue and working on a update thats supposed to fix the issue. My service paperwork says fix expected late in 4th quarter. @JeepCares

No wonder Sirius Guardian is free for a year. It doesnā€™t work. Maybe by the time The free service is up. It will start working. But by then who wants something that never hardly works. My suggestion the Fiat Chrysler is give it up. Thereā€™s no coming back from this.

If this relies on cellular networks - then it ain't going to work well in many parts of the country including where I live.
In my home township you must have either a Motorola or an LG phone due to the superior antenna, and the only people who can use phones here are those on US Cellular. Other providers don't have towers here.
When I worked for the state part of my duties was remote networks, VPNs, data, you name it - I had to over and over again explain to people why they couldn't keep a conversation going while on the road - and why in some places they might as well throw their precious iPhones away. (not good antennas on them) - cellular coverage is not what their marketing hype suggests.
Further - those who say "oh, but I have 4 bars" - the bars are for talk, not data, and the bars only mean that a TOWER can reach your phone, not that your little battery powered phone can reach the tower. Mega-power vs. pocket power in those cases.
So if uconnect is relying on cell service - expect it to be quite spotty.
Even the heart monitor system my wife was on for a few days kept complaining "cannot reach network" - it was cellular based.
I don't know for a fact - but it sure seems to me that is what uconnect relies on unless they have a satellite up there.
And if it does rely on cell service, I will never be relying on it.

This is a software issue. Star does not know when this will be updated. Dealer cannot roll back to an older firmware. As for cellular networks. I work in the industry as a construction engineer. We have plenty of sites on the air. Even though AT&T is the network used. Better than Sprint or T-Mobile in rural areas.

Good to know it's software and not their methodology.....

There was a short time where the info section of the Uconnect app didn't work very well, but it seems to be fine now. The dealer setup my access and it was all working before I drove it off the lot. It did take about six weeks before it showed me as the owner of the vehicle.

The Uconnect system relies on the AT&T cellular network. How well it functions will vary with coverage, and with roaming agreements with other providers. Coverage here is generally good. I use the remote start a lot.

AT&T coverage here not good. Verizon is the best state-wide in many places but USCellular has them beat in the rural areas. They cover the sticks like our area better than anyone.
There is no AT&T coverage in our area. Their customers have to drive up the road about a mile to get or make a call.
I use Open Signal a lot to track this stuff as well as other tools. Had to know Iowa coverage when I worked IT with the government.
Right now my uconnect app shows that it's 200 miles behind the actual miles and shows 4 days ago as last contact. That's how bad it is here.
I also think it's stupid that because I'm not an AT&T customer it refuses to let me enter my phone number for alerts.
That's just plain crazy that it won't communicate with my phone simply because I don't use their favorite carriers. Why can't they send an alert to ANY number??
It's basically useless for a lot of Iowans.

I had the same issue...I contacted Uconnect support and they told me that I had to take the vehicle back to the dealership. I tried one more time before scheduling service...and by some miracle it registered and I got all the Uconnect services. Only took me 3 days and about 15 attempts.

How current is the information supposed to be? It tells me the fuel level from days ago, the mileage is way off, and it says something about last updated being almost 2 weeks ago. It does work, sort of - but is way behind. I drive the thing every other day, at least multiple times a week. I would expect that any time I hit the uconnect app on my phone it should show me CURRENT info, not info that was from over a week ago, about 2 weeks ago. And when it's down to quarter tank it shouldn't show me 3/4 of a tank reading from several days ago.
Isn't this supposed to be near real-time? OR at least within the same day as far as current?
It's obviously working sort of because I did do a remote start with it. It took some time but it did it. The info though is never current. Not even close to current.

When you tried to register. Did it say server error when it failed? I have tried over 50 times and it keeps saying server error. The security buss is not sending info to Uconnect. Could be software. But could also be a bad radio. I did a search for the head unit. It was on national back order from an aftermarket company that sells the 8.4 upgrade units from the 5 or 7 inch screens. Tells me that a lot of these may be getting changed out by dealers.

Ok guys, finally got it working. I called AT&T to re establish WIFI. They could not see either. They sent it to engineering. I received a week later saying it was complete. I opened the app and sure enough it was working. The dealer wanted me to bring it by before AT&T called. When I took it in the next morning they informed me that an IP address had been transposed. AT&T did work with Uconnect to get this worked out. Only took 4 months to get it up and running correctly. I do have to thank my FCA representative for keeping up with the engineers and technicians. I had been working with Dianne for about 3 weeks. So thank you Dianne.

Curious as to what your issues were. I have my registered and showing up in app...but can't communicate or do anything with it. If I for example try to remote lock it...it says "may take 30 seconds or more" and just spins an spins forever until I force close the app.
