If I want to get rid of the OE Overland "street" tires and put some A/T tires on without modifying the suspension:
1. What are the pros and cons to 18" vs. 17" wheels with A/T tires?
2. What size A/T tires are recommended for 18" and 17" wheels without having to adjust the speedometer or modify the Overland suspension?

Keep the 18" if you like them, still plenty of sidewall compared to 20 or 22" wheels.

I’m trying to find the specs on these wheels. I know they’re 18x7.5 but I need the backspacing and weight

I’d love for someone to answer this question.
Similarly I want BFG A/T but I think the C rating only comes in 17” wheel.
If I switch my overland 18” stock to JL rubicon take offs (17” with 33” tire) will I need to adjust anything? Suspension, speedometer? I don’t want to effect factory drive too much.

The only thing you will need to adjust will be the speedometer.
Your options for doing this are:
1. Pay your dealer to do so
2. Buy a programmer such as Tazer, Tazer Lite, Rough Country, AEV, or Superchips.

You WILL NOT need to do anything to your suspension. And you will not affect factory drive.

285/70/17"s on my overland, they are take offs from a Mojave but fit very well without any issues.

For general use A/T tires just keep the 18s. Add some spacers and it helps the look. I did the spacers the day before my 35s went on and just put the stock ones back on for the night.

Before 1.75" spacers

Have you had any issues? Notice anything after some time? Getting this done as I type. Looks good.
