I think the real question here is which combination of options results in your Gladiator actually having that Z1B option (and a 6250 lb GVWR). This implies it comes with every Sport S, but I checked the door sticker of a local Sport S (auto w/ normal tow package) and it showed 5800 lbs. FCA's marketing materials have been very misleading about the GVWR.

I have been told this table is correct by @JeepCares

manuals
sport base, 1200 payload
sport s no tow package, 1600 payload

I've seen a manual transmission Sport S Gladiator with the regular tow package and its GVWR is 5800, payload 1200.

I ordered a Manual Sport S with no tow package (for the 1600 payload). When I get it I'll show you the door card.

I think this is a Sport S with Max Tow, Automatic
1511 payload

Thanks @basicGlad for the clarification. I hadn't seen anyone report a door sticker for a manual Sport S with the regular tow package. Lord knows why Jeep would reduce the payload when adding a hitch, but there it is. I take it you don't have much need for towing or do you plan on adding a hitch and the extra engine cooling bits later? I do need to tow 4000 lbs or so occasionally so I'll probably still check the tow package box though the reduced payload will be more limiting than I'd prefer.

Payload is weight in the bed so it must be in the spring shock combination and ride height in the rear...does seem odd however

@B345T Payload is all the weight you put on the Gladiator; weight in the bed, cab and exterior.

The manual, no tow package configuration has different springs and shocks for max payload. Tow package gives you springs and shocks for better handeling while towing but compromises payload.

All the autos have ≤ 1200 payload except max tow.

It woud be interesting to compare a manual no tow package to a max tow, and also a real base vs s both with no tow package. I'll have one piece of this soon.

I know what payload, GAWR, GCWR, GVW, GVWR, GTWR and CCC, are...

I use simplification for basic understanding on the forum...get too deep in the weeds and questions abound...

I was in agreement with you on the conversation so no further "debate" is warranted here...school is out and I do not need lessons

anybody notice in the new September order guide for both 23S & 24S... there are now 12 rows... not 13...
Normal Duty Plus Suspension (SDW) is still there, but GVWRating - 6250# (Z1B) is missing.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Must be part of FCA's campaign of confusion around which JTs get the higher payload ratings ...

I also noticed there's still no factory brake controller option yet. I was hoping it would finally be there given that we're nearing the end of Q3 and someone in the towing section seems to to think they'll be coming very soon.

How long have they offered all of the Mopar stuff like the snorkel and CAI?

I'd guess November
Still not on the ordering system so I would guess next allocation which is October but will not know until it is on the site to check...
