So to install my hood graphic I decided taking the windshield bumper/washers off would be easier than trying to cut around them. So here goes...
Anyone who has ever owned a Jeep knows this is the proper way to raise the hood. Prop rods are for girls.
That being said, you're going to want to use the prop rod on this.
After raising the hood, use a flat trim bar or plastic trim tool and remove these jewels. They are barbed. Just pry them out.
There are about 12 of them I think. After they are all out simply remove the insulation. It sets in two notches at the base of the hood and behind the prop rod hinge but it will come out without creasing if you just give it a little bit. Patience Grasshopper.
Underneath there will be 4 washered nuts holding the bumpers. They are 9mm. Why? Because Jeep, that's why.
Take those nuts off and then there is a plastic clip you need to remove. Just push toward the windshield through this hole and it will pop out.
Now the bumper will come off. Grab the washer nozzle and squeeze the sides till you can push it through the hood.
Then just pull it off of the rubber elbow and you're done. Reinstall in the reverse order.
