No, as long as you buy the correct part, your Jeep will detect the signal as you drive. I bought a set off of eBay and they work just fine.

Can you not just switch the ones from your stock wheels into the new ones??

For everyoneā€™s info I bought a new spare wheel to match the other 4 as the spare on all 4 models in just a generic black steel wheel. When the tire store put the tire onto my new wheel they noted that there was no tire monitor on the spare wheel. So now I have to go back to the dealership to get a tire monitor and get it put on to my spare.

So if anyone gets a flat then I am willing to bet you that your car will instantly give you a warning that your spare is out of air or that itā€™s not getting a reading on that tire. Call it being cheap or call it sheer stupidity! Take your pick. Ya might want to get a monitor added to your spare before you get a flat.

If you plan on a 5-tire rotation, I can see this argument. Otherwise, itā€™s kind of a waste. When you get the original flat repaired or replaced, it goes back into service with a working sensor. The light would serve as a reminder to get your other tire repaired.

Would you mind posting a link or the pn for the ones you purchased?

Yes- That works too. I chose to sell my stock tires/wheels with the sensors still in them. Call it marketing...

Is there a picture or a video on how to do that? I don't even know what they look like in the stock wheels...thanks haha

I can post a picture of my fifth sensor for my spare on Saturday. Dealership gets my sensor tomorrow. And I go back to the dealership this Saturday to have them put on my step bars and to install my tire pressure monitor sensor for my spare tire. Will snap a picture of it before they install it.

Had my sensor put in at the dealership today. Forgot to take a picture of the sensor. But the mechanic told me that itā€™s exactly the same as the factory sensors. And it looked exactly like the ones shown above that @Renegade posted. Sorry about forgetting snap this picture. Was mainly there to get my step bars put on.
