I just got 285/75/17 Ridge Grapplers on my Sport S and there is a slight rub on the cosmetic plastic on the bumper when moving slow on hard turns. Looks like it could be either trimmed or a leveling kit would fix it easily. Currently no lift

Its interesting the overall diameter listing on discount tire direct are the following for these tires in. 285/75/R18:

  • Nitto Ridge Grappler: 35.08
  • Cooper AT3 XLT: 34.84
  • Falken Wildpeak: 34.80
Except, you said you had those 285/75 on 17’s, which would be:

  • Nitto Ridge Grappler: 33.86

Is the Overland suspension riding a bit higher than the Sport S and allowing for no-rub on the larger overall diameters on the Overland wheels? Or are those wider rims?

I don’t believe the suspension on the overland is different from the Sport S. The 285/75/18 would be 1” larger due to the bigger wheel size. The wheels are 17x9” with a -12 offset.
I did end up removing the euro bumper (the plastic piece behind the bumper for aerodynamics) and that freed up a lot of room for the tires no rubbing at all now, and I think it looks better.

Cleankat, did you remove that piece of bumper trim jdhenn05 mentioned?
I think those inserts are only on the Sport trim...

Looks great! How do you like the leveling kit? been debating about doing the same one, was the install fairly easy?
I like it a lot. Very subtle look. Handles great.

I had a shop do it. It looked easy but I didn't have time. They did the tire mount and leveling kit in 3 hours.

Funny, I had an S4 as well, we have similar taste

Really sharp dude. White with tinted windows is a such a good look. Storm Trooper. I used to have a white A5 set up the same way.

I still have the S4. It's a black 6 speed with a couple APR go fast bits. I didn't have the heart to get rid of it. But I haven't driven it in the two weeks since I got the Gladiator. Now you gotta get a bike.

Also another weird coincidence, my company has a big office in Columbus, I bet we know the same people.

Small world man. Used to have a BMW S1000RR, the wife made me get rid of it a few years back once we had kids! Now just cars for me unfortunately but still love bikes.

I grew up in Columbus (Westerville), work in public accounting.
