Had someone ask if I really had that many miles on my Gladiator already.

Yup, I do.

This pic was a few days ago, so there are a few more now.

Are you using the 8.4with GPS, pictures taken with phone?
I do have the 8.4, with navigation, and I am using my iPhone X Max to take all the pictures.

So, as some know, I’ve been driving my JT Rubicon since the day after I picked her up on June 17. Left the next morning on my road trip. Left from Montgomery, Texas.

Wound up weeks later here in Alaska. Camping at Fort Wainright just outside Fairbanks. Been here 6 days now, leaving for Anchorage / Seward in the morning. But that’s not what I’m writing about.

Saturday, the day before yesterday (Aug 10), I decided to get up early and drive up to the Arctic Circle and do the touristy thing and take a picture of the JT in front of the sign. Easy enough, right? So I did. I left here about 7 am and headed north. I got to the Arctic Circle, took my pictures, and a nice lady took one of me in front of the sign as well, and the only problem was, it was still pretty early, so I thought maybe I’d at least go on up and see the Yukon River and the bridge, not unreasonable, right?

So about 8 hours later I find myself pulling into Deadhorse / Prudoe Bay, and getting a room for the night at the Aurora Hotel....... I wound up going all the way. THAT was one hell of a drive!

Now the problem is, I still have my camp set up at Fort Wainright, so I had to drive all the way back the next day! I made it but I was so exhausted after driving all that in two days, then spending an hour at the car wash just trying to knock the heavy stuff off, I fell asleep so fast, and slept so long, that I had to push my departure to Anchorage by a day, lol.

All I can say is HOLY COW! What an experience! I’m going to try and get some photos up with this post, tell me what you think. Mileage will go over 12,000 tomorrow (11,857 currently).

Great story. My friend and I drove our Jeeps both to Inuvik, NT and to Deadhorse a couple years ago. Incredible adventure. We spent two days at Deadhorse so we could take the shuttle those last few miles to the Arctic Ocean (No personal vehicles allowed through the oil fields). Great stuff. Videos are on my YT channel (DigitalByDoiron), if interested ...

Is there any time on the trip north you felt like you needed to use four wheel drive?

Was in Alaska the same time as you. Did not take it north of Fairbanks. Will take delivery of my JT soon. Must follow your route next trip.

This is FANTASTIC! What an amazing trip! We just bought ours last night. So excited. Not able to do a trip like that right now, but it's certainly something to shoot for! Thank you for sharing!

Only when I went off road, like in Emigrant, Montana, going up the old mining roads into the mountains. Stuff like that. I did use four wheel drive on the haul road in a few spots, but mainly because I didn't trust the traction on sections of what they call a "road" there, LOL.

I am definitely going to take a look. Due to my spontaneous nature I of course had not arranged in advance to take the trip out to the sea, much to my chagrin.....

That looks like an amazing adventure. My parents took six weeks and drove with a few other Model As from GA to Alaska. They went all the way to the Artic Circle like you did. They avoided the interstates and took a creative route to see as many sites as they could along the way. They even stopped to see me when I still lived in CO. We did an oil change and some other maintenance in my garage. Anyway, I'm jealous of trips like that and hope to do something like you all did one day.
