Hi guys, I'm new here and new to the Jeep scene completely. I've owned and built quite a few different vehicles, and I can appreciate every scene out there that someone puts quality effort into.

I love watching crawlers, and even being on the trails... but I'm not building an "offroad" style Gladiator. I've started a build that I know won't be the style of everyone on this forum as there are many offroad and Jeep enthusiasts who will look at it is "ruined" or "stupid" but I'm still going to share for those who do want to follow or for those who do want to point and laugh too.

The start is a Gladiator Overland, black on black, with almost every option. I opted not to go for the Rubicon... as I won't be doing any crawling to justify the fancy suspension.

The Gladiator will feature of host of aftermarket parts from suspension, to aesthetics to performance.

Subscribe & follow along here, and/or drop your IG and give a follow there as well - IG @earv_g0tti for me. Cheers!

For reference, just a couple of my previous builds

I love photography, so the thread will probably be picture heavy as well.

The first thing I did was debadge it all around... That's when I found the holes under the "Jeep" in the tailgate. That day is actually when I joined the forum, then I found the Hauk tailgate emblem and ordered it.

Simple process with fishing line, heat gun & Goo Gone. Then I finished it up with a 3M eraser wheel.

Next I started cleaning up the rear. The textured black plastic look doesn't do anything for me, I've always been a fan of color matching. It just looks cleaner IMO.

All plastics were hit with 180, 320, 500, then wet sanded with 1000, 2000

Then to really clean it up, the rear tails, 3rd brake light, and bumper reflectors were all lightly tinted.

Well yesterday a care package showed up from my 1st sponsor, HornBlasters!

The HornBlasters Spare Tire Kits are AWESOME and give the opportunity to mount all hardware to one simple unit and replace the (useless) factory spare tire!

I went to work disassembling and painting the horns. All parts will either be powder coated Prismatic Illusion Cherry or Painted Chrysler Inferno Red.

(I was so anxious I sprayed one quick just to see, that's why there's only 3)

and back together. I'll run a bead of silicone back around the trumpet ends like they came to cap them off!

That's it for now. More parts showing up soon. Going to have to wait to install everything as I want to have it all powdered at once

What is your plans for the spare tire? I replaced my 33s with 37s and am looking for a new place to mount it.

I will be watching your air compressor set up. I will have to check Horn Blasters out.

Thanks for posting and sharing.

Well since I'll be running 40s and aftermarket wheels, unless I buy a 5th it'll be useless so I probably won't run a spare. I do think there are some options out already tho for in bed mounting systems for up to a 40" tire.

I've done air ride on a few vehicles in past builds, and train horns on the last couple trucks but always mounted and plumbed my own system. This mount from Hornblasters should really simplify the process so we'll see. I'll put it together in the living room then mount it on the Jeep, just waiting on powder coat. I'll post pics, thanks!

Back with another update.. Another package came in today, slowly but surely they're trickling in.

2 more of my Sponsors came thru! Gen-Y Hitches and Bolt Lock sent over some goodies for the build.
I went with the 5" drop MEGA-DUTY 10klb offset hitch with versa-ball and the HEAVY-DUTY 500lb serrated step. These will all be powdercoated as well

Glad you shared your build. And, well, to each his own. If we all liked the same thing we’d all have the same Gladiator.

I’m not a Bro-Dozer fan and I think train horns should never be allowed but you won’t be blowing them near me so others can deal with it.

Looks like you’ve convinced vendors to gift you products so you can show what you’ve done.

What a boring world that'd be for sure. I've done build threads on forums for a few vehicles, it's never going to appeal to everyone. I just like having it there for the sake of reference and showing a transformation. I don't send my vehicles off to a shop and have it come back done. I like to work and get hands on myself.

I'm a fan of "bro dozers" and work rigs, pretty much anything that's not stock I'm all for it. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to buy $50k Jeeps and $50k trucks then sink thousands more into them to go beat on them offroad. I'd prefer a show shine over battle scars anyday, but man do I love to watch other people test theirs!

I didn't "convince" anyone to do anything though, if only it were that easy. But there will be plenty of parts on this build that were not sponsored. But who am I to turn down help getting me there haha.
