IMO, there would be little difference in fuel economy in the JT with the Pentastar vs. with the 5.7 Hemi.

For me the 260lb-ft torque in the JT with the Pentastar stinks, that is slightly less than a Ridgeline, Tacoma, Odyssey, Pacifica, and some Camry/Accords.

My mileage changed very little going from 3.8l to 5.7l in my JK, drivability changed drastically.

That's because the 3.8 was a slug and a pig compared to the 3.6. That said, I would still prefer a Hemi, tho.

Let's make a deal... everyone who wants a HEMI JT, go to the "I cant wait to void my warranty and break my jeep every week" thread and those of us who want 442 ftlb of torque and better fuel mileage can hang here for a bit and get some good info. COOL?

Just read that the GMC 4 cylinder diesel for the Canyon is $4995 above the V6 gas.

Now that's expensive!

Is this 3rd gen ecodiesel more difficult and costly to repair or maintain compared to the pentastar 3.6? Is the lack of horse power in the ecodiesel going to be worse for conditions similar to the baja 1000?

What do you think the ecodiesel costs FCA ? I have a feeling that the $4k up charge is yielding the same or lower margin vs the 3.6

Well, other than the sister pickups, what is GM putting the 2.8L in? Nothing that I know of, so low engine production numbers and charging less.
but then again when has GM ever worried themselves over profits?

There is a Duramax 2.8lt diesel sold here in the Holden Colorado twin cab Ute.
I assume it's the same engine? If so, nothing outstanding from what I've read and heard, gets the job done.
