That is a GREAT video! I actually have never tried any of those or tried rust proofing from new. But looking under and working under my 15 year old Dodge Ram I WILL be doing something to the Gladiator. There are just too many things that have rusted that could be prevented with just a product like CRC or something else. I am glad you found that video! Thank you!
My thoughts as well! My first car rusted out to the point where it couldn’t pass inspection so I’m doing everything I can to prevent it with the new Jeep!

Good luck!

Also installed the Mopar 8.4” screen protector! I got a scratch on the display for my last vehicle and it was jarring to see every time I got in the car. This should hopefully prevent that.

Luckily the screen protector came with two so I was able to apply the second one successfully! There are some micro bubbles but they should go away over time. Better than having scratches on the display!

Last of the exterior changes before I ceramic coat the vehicle!

I fell in love with the red Jeep outline on the Rubicons and really missed it on the Overland I purchased. Decided to try my hand at plastidipping the emblems seeing some great results from some people.

I really did not do a good job. I believe I put too thick of a layer which made it very hard to remove. Ended up removing the trim I was trying to install! To make matters worse, some red flecks remained behind under the emblem. Nothing noticeable to a passerby, but something I would see every time I looked at the vehicle.

I decided to purchase the OEM Rubicon badges and have a shop install them. The shop did a great job at cleaning up the initial badges and only charged $50 to do the work. Very happy with the look so far!

Last major project before the winter! After a lot of research, settled on doing ceramic coating through CarPro’s CQUK 3.0 and windshield coating through CarPro’s FlyBy Forte. I made the decision to do this outside since no garage was available and the weather was perfect.

Coating applied perfectly! I did one coat of the CarPro Eraser after washing and drying my car to remove any oils. Then applied the FlyByForte for all glass surfaces (as well as the headlights, which turned out well). Then did two coats of the CQUK 3.0, followed by the Reload solution.

Since this was my first attempt with self application of a ceramic coating, I was really worried about how it would turn out. This was really easy to apply and took about four hours from start to finish. I’d recommend having many microfiber towels on hand for the Reload application, but the supplied items from the 50 mL kit worked well.

Now that the undercoating and ceramic coating is applied, time to see how everything goes with Winter approaching! I’ll be washing every couple of weeks using CarPro Reset, ECH2O and Reload to maintain the coating.

When I purchased my five Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 275/70/R18s, I assumed the spare tire rim was the same dimensions as the OEM 18” rims. Turns out they are not!

After doing some research, I was able to buy one OEM 18” rim and TPMS sensor from eBay for a great price, which will allow me to do five tire rotations and help extend the life of the tires.

I was initially concerned because the rim was specified as used but it arrived in perfect shape. Here’s the link in case anyone is searching for a single OEM 18” rim. Looks like they have two left!

17” spare. Should’ve done more research before I bought five tires. At least an OEM spare rim will allow me to do a five tire rotation.

How much $ did all the stuff to ceramic coat cost you? I'm debating doing it myself too since they charge an arm and a leg for it around here.

I’d definitely recommend doing it yourself, the process was really easy, just about 4 hours long from start to finish. I even stopped by a car detail shop to ask about it and they recommended doing it yourself since it’s so easy with a new car.

In all I spent about $150 on the kit, windshield kit, extra suede applicators, and microfiber towels. This was enough to do the Gladiator twice over.

That is total BS that if you blew out a tire you would not be able to at least mount the spare tire on your alloy rim. Makes as much sense as mounting 4 totally different tires on different sized rims but at least they all have the same rolling diameter.

Think of it as a temporary spare, like the little ones in the trunk of most newer cars.

If you blow out a tire, you use it to get you home and to the tire store until you buy a replacement. You're going to want to replace at least two of them at a time anyways to avoid uneven wear; I'd probably replace all 4 if they were oversized MTs, depending on the age of the other two.
