Did the 4 pin plug receiver on the JT change from the ones that have been on vehicles prior. My utility Trailer plug doesn’t plug into it. I can’t find my 7 pin to 4 pin adapter to make matters worse. The 7 pin is fine as I pulled our travel trailer all summer.

How does it not fit? Wrong size, pins don't line up, won't push into the socket?
It should not have changed. They are supposed to follow the same wiring and size pattern. Maybe it's defective, or there is some stray plastic stuck in there from the manufacturing process. The whole assembly can be easily replaced.

This doesn’t look like a normal 4 pin to me. None of my other vehicles or Jeeps had a 4 pin like that.

instead of being a solid piece, it just has sleeves around each post. It looks like it is the same size, and should work. Mine looks the same, but I don't have a 4-pin available to try with it.

It doesn’t fit. Found some adapter things on google/amazon. Also found my 7 - 4 pin adapter on my magnetic tail lights so I’m good for the next time I’m getting firewood.

Do you have pictures of you adapter plug and your trailer plug so we can see the differences to the JT plug?

My magnetic trailer lights plug into JT. So it would appear that Chrysler put female 4 pins on some vehicles and male 4 pins on others.
Imagine that!

This is the factory 4 pin on my JK.

Looks like the 3 female plugs have blockage.
The blockage you are seeing is more than likely silicon (dilectric grease) to prevent crap and water from getting in there. After swim meets we put that on all of the timing gear to prevent corrosion and accidentally having something arc.

My new F150 has the same plug. My light harness plugs in fine. You need one without the "outer protection" type sleeve. I have a short 16" jumper I use for multiple trailers and fits both the JT and Ford.

Trailer plugs into Jk and I found my 7-4 pin adapter so I’ll use it on JT. They switched the plugs under the dash also. The one that was under our GC Overland was opposite gender to the one on the JT.
