Took a little trip to the top of the East Coast. Highest point east of the Mississippi River. I also found a neat little church by a stream to get some pictures by.

Yep. There is parking and a gift/coffee shop at the top with restrooms and then it's about 150 yrds. of paved walkway to the actual summit where the marker and observation deck is.

It was a warm day here in NorCal, took the top off and went for a drive.
Cheers

Okay @jp1,as promised.

I've been using a trailer to haul my leaves and grass for years now. It's a pain about two times a year because the grass gets so dense and heavy it's hard to pitch fork onto the trailer....... Enter Gladiator with hitch rack!

My dad's 2" ball has essentially rust welded itself into his receiver (one reason I always remove mine after each use, plus #chinpain. So I permanently am borrowing his rack. Measures 19"x60".

Go to menards, 3 smaller cans would be easier, but they're like 22" at the top, so it wouldn't work. I settle on two 50 gallon Rubbermaid bins.

Now I'm already concerned these will be too heavy when full of grass, but they seem ROUGH AND Tough and I can strap them down through the handle like this.

So I go to the drop off site, I use the handle with one hand and the middle of the axle with other hand (lift with my back in a twisting jerking motion, jk) and it's not too bad. Strap em back down, drive home.

I drive 5 miles at speeds up to 70mph,over railroad tracks and through the woods (to my grandmother's assisted living facility we go) no problems. I see them moving a little and then they're gone. Throw my hazards on slow down from 50mph,pull into a parking lot about 800 feet away and this is the site.

These are some ROUGH AND TOUGH garbage cans. The snap on lids are even still on.
Here is the only damage.

Not bad if you ask me for falling at speed. Moral of the story, strap em down tighter and buy quality! These cans are steffen707 approved!

Run a strap around the cans, through the handles, into the bed (over the top of the tailgate) to the hold down loops.. should prevent the wedding drive in the future! Or a short Shock cord around the can axle to the deck just to secure the bottom.

Both good suggestions I actually used a gear tie rubber thingy on the axle and deck the first time I used it, but it was an extra step, oops.

I think if I move the strap to both rear handles and anchored to rear of DECK this won't happen again.

2/3 Freedom Panels off and a slow cruise through the wooded, peaceful, Confederate trench lines of the Fredericksburg Military Park. I am ready for retirement. Looked like another gentleman, who had already reached retirement, was doing the same thing with his wife in a Corvette.

He chose poorly.
